Another dance.. what to do?

Ok so FI has just decided this week that he wants to do a dance with his step mom.  I think it really great because she does SO much for us but I am afraid it is just going to be too much!

We are already doing the normal
First dance
M/S dance
F/D dance

And FI would also like to do some German Folk Song thing that his family sings.  I just know if I was at a wedding with all of this I would be like ok let's go i want to dance!!! But I just wanted to see your thoughts and possibly ideas of how we could keep the step mom involved and feeling special.

    Hmm... could your FI and his stepmom dance to the first part of a slow song and then have everyone else join in for the second half? Or, maybe their dance can be during some part of the meal so most people are already sitting down and eating??

    Colleen, I wish I could help you here but my brain isn't working.  I think maybe they could pick a part of a song that the bridal party will join in with? So that it's like "hey, everyone, time to dance now!" and then everyone will start dancing? Sorry - I'm not very helpful.

    Seperate them! I agree, as a guest I would be getting pretty restless. But what if you had him at least do the german song later in the evening? to be announced by your dj or band

    Well for my father-daughter dance I am just waiting til later in the evening, and having the DJ announce that I would like to dedicate a song to my dad, and that people are welcome to join us on the dance floor. That might work?

    Oh and FI is dancing with his mom at the same time that I dance with my dad, we're not doing separate dances. You might want to consider merging yours, as well, to cut back on how many dances you're doing.

    As a wedding guest, I find the separate dances really boring... I don't even care about the bride and groom first dance, to be honest (although FI and I are doing one). So for that reason we are minimizing the dances people have to sit through.
