Price increae on wedding gowns T/F?

Soo my wedding isnt till Sept 2012. Do you think it is too soon to order my dress? I pretty much know which dress I want but I kind of wanted to wait to see what the new dresses will look like. The lady where I'm planning to order my dress from said that after this month the prices go up on all gowns, and that she doesnt want to do that to me, so i should order it before the end of the month. Do you guys know if this is true or do you think she just wants me to order it now so that she doesn't loose the sale?

My wedding isn't until December 2012 and I ordered my dress in June, but only because I went for fun right after I got engaged and found something that I loved!  So, I don't think it is too early to order a dress.  I'm not sure about the price increases, but it just seems that in general prices for all things wedding do increase once a year.  If you see something you love, I think you should get it, but I don't think you should feel pressured because of this price increase.  You do still have plenty of time and there are tons of dresses out there!

It's the perfect time to order your dress.  Do it!  I'm not sure about the price change, that might be just her store.  Usually the prices go down when new lines come out.

I have my dress already for an October 2012 wedding, so I wouldn't feel bad about getting it early!  One less thing to worry about later!

As far as the price increase, I don't know about that, and I think it's kind of obnoxious that she was making you feeled pressured...

It's def not too early! Some dresses take a long time to get in so be sure to take that into consideration too :) Mine took 9 months to be made. It's hard to say about the costs of dresses going up.. Some designers had held their prices steady when the economy turned south, instead of doing an annual increase. Others still did the increase and dome did minor reductions. Every designer gears to a different market. Let's take Maggie Sottero for example- she held her prices for 2 years then did an increase I believe last January. So it all depends. The one thong I want to encourage you to do is negotiate. The tag price is not the best they can do and if it is, another vendor will ansolutely beat out a price to gain a sale. Just dome food for thought- don't make the decision based on an increase but moreso if you're ready tinkerer or not :) sales tactics turn me off especially when dealing with my wedding. Don't be afghans to play hardball- it's your wedding :) Best wishes!!!

I agree with this completely!  I am living proof.  My parents didn't give me a budget but I negotiated hard to get them the best price... So yes, negotiate!

Also, it's not too early.  Did you try the dress that you love on?  You may fall in love with something else while trying dresses on.  Your best bet is to go and try some gowns on... Good luck and have fun :)

I ordered my dress for my July 2012 wedding this past June.  So 13 months ahead of time.  I found one fell in love with it and just ordered it.  This way I have some extra time god forbid I need it.
