Hair & Makeup Budget?

I am getting my hair and makeup, my four bridesmaids hair and makeup, and my mothers hair and makeup done the day of the wedding on location and it is going to be around $1,120. Is this reasonable for the metro Atlanta area?

Initially I would say yes. But if you divide that by the number of people that ends up being $187 each; which isn't ridiculous (at the lowest salon I looked at they wanted $45 for makeup and $65 for hair + tip for each).
Also, is there going to be more than one stylist and make up artist? Because 6 people is a lot to do. I was in a wedding that 1 person did Bride's hair and all 5 bridesmaids and it was so tight for time. I was the last to have my hair done and I was 15 minutes late to pictures because the stylist was not finished with my hair.

I can't say about prices, since I am letting the girls do their own hair and makeup. They can do professional if they prefer, at their own expense.

If 1K is more than you wanted to spend on this aspect, maybe just do hair? Also think about your ladies: are any of them especially good with makeup or hair? Maybe you could ask them to lend a hand, and offer them a little dough or you could spring for an extra gift item as thanks.

I would only be looking into doing this if my ladies were all like me and hair/makeup challenged, but they all can dress themselves up very nicely. My MOH offered to do all the makeup (she is great) and all I want is bouncy curls, half up/half down, so I will probably just have my aunt help me with that (she also offered).

Personally, I would definitely say that's too much. However, like PP said, is it only one stylist?

Either way, I definitely wouldn't spend that much on hair and makeup. My girls are doing their own hair and I'm having a friendor do the makeup. If I wasn't, my budget would be somewhere around $750 for everything.

I definitely would not have the budget to spend that much on hair and make up. I am spending $175 for myself (including trial) and my sister (only BM) is paying $75 for hers and I will be sure to give the girl a tip for both. I offered my sister to do her own hair and make up (she is perfectly capable) but she wants to get it done. My mom is thinking of having the stylist do a very simple French twist for her hair but she will be paying for that separately (or going to a salon she likes). I found a friend of a friend to do it so I think she's being a little generous on cost.

I think having the girls do their own make up is a great idea. You could buy a few eye shadows or something for them to use. The weddings I have been in I normally get my hair done (just because I don't use product on a daily basis and so my nice hair doesn't last long and so I need someone who knows how to use hair spray). I think around $50 - $60 is what I normally spend for someone to do a simple half-up do. Then the bride normally gives a big tip (at least the last two weddings I was in that's what happened).

Also: that price includes 15% gratuity and they do makeup and hair AT my house instead of us going to a salon
