What is the average price per slice around Houston?

One of my friends is asking, and I dont know, because mine was included in my package with the venue...

I paid $3.50 a slice for Buttercream and I think this is below average.

I did my cake for 150 and am having a sheet cake for the balance, which is about 1.25 a slice.

mine was $2.25/slice iirc (but it could be as low as $1.75 per, I just don't have the numbers available right now). I know it's way below average. my cake was super simple and I got a discount for doing some inadvertent advertising for the baker.

Depending on the bakery & their level of work, anywhere from $2.50/slice to $8/slice.

Ours (from Cakes by Gina) works out to about $4.25/slice.

We haven't decided yet, but are getting quotes from around $2.25 to $3.75 a slice. This is for a simple tiered cake w/ buttercream, nothing too fancy.  A coworker went to a smaller, family-run bakery and got as low as $1.25 a slice, but it was just a cake and frosting, little to no decoration.

Mine is about .75 a slice. Its being done by a relatively newer baker. This is not her normal price, and her work is amazing!! I have a 4tiered cake that feeds 300ppl. It's alternating levels of Italian Creme and French Vanilla cakes with buttercream frosting and covered in fondant with hand-made fondant decorations. I am her first wedding cake of this size, and because my best friend is her #1 customer and co-worker, I get a discount. Plus, I recommend her to everyone! Oh, BTW, she does the cakes on a weekend basis, and holds down a 9-5 job M-F. So, her kind of cakery is not for everyone...
