Unity Candles

My wedding will be in May and it's an outdoors wedding. I don't want to have any problems with wind blowing off my candles so I am trying to think in something else to do.
This morning I had an idea and I want to share it with you so you tell me what you think.
I am planning my wedding to be very casual and relax. So I was thinking we could use dirt and some seeds.
We could have two small potts with dirt representing our lifes sepparately, and then a bigger pott in which we pour the dirt we had in our smaller ones, representing we now unite our lifes. Then we can plant some seeds and water them simbolizing our love and our new marriage, which we'll care to grow and bloom.

What do you think?

Re: Unity Candles

  • I would be worried that the plants would die, but that is just me. :) I am seriously considering the unity cross.

  • What's the unity cross? BTW I wouldn't be using any plants, just the seeds hehe. If they do grow that's just a bonus LOL.

  • the unity cross is hard to explain ( especially when typing on an iPad). Google it. :)

[QUOTE]Wedding ceremonies are unity ceremonies, so I think unnecessary ceremonies within a ceremony are overkill. The plant idea is nice, but you are likely to get the front of your dress dirty pouring soil.

This. Skip the extra ceremonies. I think they're silly.
