Hello!

Just wanted to introduce myself.  My name is Emily.  I am from Jacksoville and planning a destination wedding in Newport, RI.  My fiance Carter and I just got engaged a few weeks ago over Fourth of July weekend!   At the moment we are thinking late summer of next year for our wedding.  

I was scrolling through some of the recent board comments and it looks like there is a lot of good advice to be found on here!

    Congrats Emily! Newport is such a gorgeous place to get married!! Have you done any planning yet (locations, florists, catering)?

    not really.  I have just started looking online.  That is all so far.  We are going to try to come up to Rhode Island on Columbus Day weekend.

    Congrats Emily!! Just a quick note of advice.  Most places in Newport are booked a year in advance so late summer of next year may already be filling up.  If at all possible try to narrow a few places down before your Columbus day trip and if you can, have them hold any days you like and give you first right of refusal.

    I agrese places are already filling--- I checked out a few places that already have "discount dates"-- dates for early next summer they haven't filled yet they are trying to get rid of...

    FYI-- if anyone is interested Regatta has 4th of july weekend, 2011 at a steal....
