Proper Etiquette

My fiance and I have already been married before but after 10 years apart we are getting remarried. We are having a destination wedding but we are considering what if anything we should do back home? We are getting married at the beach two states away and plan on having a private ceremony with just our children. Several family members and friends want to celebrate with us here at home. I am not sure what proper etiquette would be.

A wedding reception might be strange because a lot of people you would invite to a wedding reception probably came to your first & gave you gifts then. I would sau just have a regular party to celebrate. Then you can keep things more casual & cheaper too.

  • I like that idea. Thank you! A party at home or a party out?
  • I think either or would work; it depends on your finances, your home, your schedule, and your tastes.

It can range from a more formal banquet (no "firsts" though) to a casual backyard bbq. If you have a large backyard, go for it, but if it may be too cramped, look for another venue

  • I would say depends on how many people you would want to invite & how many you can accomodate at your home. It may be less work to just book a party room at a local resturant so all you have to do is show up & enjoy the party.
  • i just want to say that i love seeing stories like this.
  • Thank you so much. It is so helpful to receive advice. I have been out of the wedding loop for a long time.
