Question for Tides brides

I know I haven't posted in a while. Orginally FI wanted to do a 2012 wedding, but we are pushing it up to 2011. I contacted the Tides and they gave me a very reasonable price. What I wanted to know is if I eliminate some items from the menu and what not, do they lower the price or do they just add in something different? We are on a very tight budget since it's just the two of us paying for it.  And any other opinions about the place would be great.

My suggestion is to tell them what you are looking to get to and see what they can do.   I found that they were very good about negotiating the price when we were booking.    maybe you can suggest some things that you don't want and see what they can do.    I have to say that you get SO much for your money at the Tides.   The cocktail hour spread is crazy, there is so much food.   Good Luck!

I can't speak about the Tides, but I think it would be best to ask these kinds of questions to the venue. I'm pretty sure the details of your wedding (number of guests, day of the event, etc.) all plays a factor into how much they are willing to work with your requests. For example, right before we booked our venue they were running a deal for half-price add-ons, but the sale was over when we actually went in to negotiate and they ended up letting us have the sale anyway since we told them it would be a deal breaker. In fact, we even asked for the discount on things that they didn't  have on their sale list (extend the reception by an hour, viennese table, etc.) and they gave it all to us! In my experience, it never hurts to ask...you never know what they will be willing to do to earn your business!

I just booked my wedding there for July 20, 2012 I agree with goaliegirl they really do give you so much food for your money.  Unless you are cutting out something drastic I dont know if they would come down on the price since it seems like they include alot automatically.

The Tides gives you a lot for your money! We will be getting married there on Feb 19, 2011 and they told us since we were on a budget that they dont charge differently for a buffet dinner or sit down because they are known for how much food they give for your money! I think if you go in and talk with Ron and tell him how much you can afford to spend and which room he might negotiate somethings with you....
