RIDICULOUS marriage proposal

I probably would have crawled away and buried myself in a hole.
More than once my BF has grabbed me in the grocery store and started waltzing me around to the Muzac that was playing. He is synonymous with public spectacle.
Well, then again, so am I.
Now with more wedded bliss.
I don't get married often, but when I do, I do it in Las Vegas.

Turns out he DID have the ring in his pocket, he just couldn't bring himself to do it with all those people around.

It's cute and if she liked it then it's not ridiculous. I will say, though, I don't know any (straight) guyswho would/could even begin to choreograph a dance routine so more power to him.

She couldn't really say "no" after all that spectacle though! I bet those two are going to have a really fun reception.
i thought it was cute and hilarious. I probably would have peed myself if my FI did that. the fact that he choreographed that entire thing with his friends was a pretty sweet thing to do. Did he remind anyone else of Napoleon Dynamite?
PS - not the same as the jumbotron - the dance routine took thought and practice!

I don't like them to be done on major holidays, birthdays, at big events, to be elaborately staged, to be photographed, to be filmed, or to be anything that anyone else would remember.
To me, the proposal should be something very much between the bride and groom. I don't want to think other people knew everything about how I was going to be proposed to before *I* knew, if that makes sense.
Everytime I see something like this, or see someone posting photos of their proposal, all I can think is "just about the most important question he could ask you was run by others first. Bleh."
I'm a real fan of a proposal turning an ordinary, unstaged, unrehearsed moment into something you never forget. Thank God my fiance remembered my rant about that when he proposed - over a Happy Meal in a hotel bed while watching Family Guy - with no one else the wiser until we announced it.
Of course, I also would have said no to any man who asked my parents for "permission" or "their blessiong" prior to proposing. I don't like my major life choices to be discussed or staged before I'm even aware of them!
