Affordable Rehearsal Dinner Venue Help on North Shore

Hello!

My fiance and I are getting married in September and need some help.  The only thing we have left to plan is our rehearsal/welcome dinner.

The specifics:
We will have about 35 guests
Our hotel is on Route 1 in Peabody and want to keep our dinner somewhat close to there
Our dinner would be on a Friday night
We would like to keep total costs for dinner and drinks less than 1,500

We had though about having a picnic in a park and bbqing with some beer/wine, but are having trouble finding a park that we can do this in with a covered area in case it rains.  If we have it at a place, we would like to have a separate function room, but all places we've looked at have been to expensive already.

Please help us by giving any and all suggestions.  We appreciate the help!

Thank you!
Robyn

Capone's in South Peabody might do something.  I've been to showers and other functions there but I'm not sure about a Friday night.

Also Calitri's in Danvers off of Rte. 1 is good, I had my bridal shower there.

There's also a Bertucci's on Rte. 1 N in that area that has a small room in the back.

Where have you tried looking already? I grew up in the area so I have a handful of restaruant ideas just don't want to duplicate your list.

  •  Thomson's Country Club in North Reading has a great outside covered area and they do catered BBQs for a very reasonable price.  They are located on Rte 62 not far from Rte 1.  You should check them out!
  • Winter Island in Salem also has indoor/outdoor areas; as well as the Willows.

  • Did you try the Gould Barn in Topsfield - you can bring in your own food.
  • It's a little different and def not your typcal rehearsal dinner spot - but what about Kowloon on rt 1?
  • New restaurant in Peabody/Lynnfield line area called Stonewood Tavern.  I've heard they've got function rooms--really nice inside.  Also, check out Petrillo's in Peabody.
