I need help. I've tried and i've tried to forget about the Monique Lhuillier Magical dress and I just can't do it! It's unique, a little vintage, a little modern, completely fresh, and everything I've been looking for. HOWEVER.... it's $8k. Whoa excuse me, I just threw up a little bit. Anyway, I think my only option is to look into having a replica or "inspired" dress custom made. I've looked into pre owned dresses but they are still too damn spendy. Has anyone heard of really great wedding dress makers around the twin cities or in MN in general? This is new territory for me. Thanks!
Re: Custom Dressmaker?
The Dressmaker might be your best option.
Planning Bio-Added FOR SALE page, will be adding more stuff to it soon!
ETA: As far as pricing, it can vary depending on what you are looking for. For example, for the lace overlay fabric of my mom's dress, they gave my mom big swatches of about 3 different choices, and then gave her an estimate of what the dress would cost for each one so she had a good idea of what she was getting. Lace gets expensive, but your dress only has lace in the bodice, so it may help in the cost area for you, since the skirt is a solid fabric, and there will likely be many different choices of fabric for the skirt in varying price ranges.
Another option is to go in there with your picture and the budget of how much you are willing to spend (keep in mind you won't be needing alterations, which can cost hundreds of dollars in some places, since it will be custom made for you). That way, they can then select the fabric that will fit in that budget, and go from there.
