Small but exciting checks

Used a Joann's 50% off coupon to get more votive candles (24 for $3.70).  They didn't keep the coupon so ran back in to get some wire since on Friday I decided I'm going to make some DIY custom name hangers for my girls...so that only cost $1 and I'm slowly going to use coupons to accumulate!  Then went to the Dollar Tree (love this place) and bought some tulle and really nice beer mugs I'm going to chalkboard paint for our groomsmen (they are huge and heavy-quality...highly recommend).
My favorite check is I won an ebay auction for only $3 for some Virginia Tech material.  FI went to VT and I went to rival UVA so I'm going to make my garters that are half VT material and half UVA as a surprise to him.  Just bid on the UVA material and I'm hoping I'll be able to make 2 garters for under $10.  Probably could find some cheap ones to buy for that BUT these will be way more fun!
Have my first Anatomy exam this week so that SHOULD be my focus so I'm excited to get some small things out of the way before hitting the books!  Hope everyone had a great andproductive weekend too!

  • Those are very significant checks!! I've become a coupon whore too! FI laughs at me every Thursday when the flyers come in because I tear up the package in search for Michael's coupons! They've saved me a bundle!
And dollar stores ROCK!! I bought my large bevelled mirrors there for 5X less money than anywhere else :)

  • Awesome!

I was actually in a city where there was a Hobby Lobby AND I had the coupon, but I never went inside.  I think it's because I have all I need right now.  I spent a LOT of money at that store in November.

Just because you saw it on Four Weddings, doesn't mean it's a good idea.
  • Haha The closest Hobby Lobby is 3 hours away so I've never been but heard wonders.  FI is taking a seasonal job 4 hrs away in a few weeks :-( buttt it is only 45 min from the Hobby Lobby so on an off day when I visit him guess where we are going shopping haha
  • Great job! Good luck on the DIY projects and your exam!
