springvale or columbia ballroom?

I am torn between these two venues! has anyone been to a wedding at either place? if so was it good or bad?

Re: springvale or columbia ballroom?

  • I was in love with Columbia Ballroom until I visited there. It's WAY too rustic for my taste. I need a bit better than a gravel parking lot. Their prices rock...but that's about it. A coworker of mine had hers at Springvale before I knew her and raves about the place. I've done fundraisers there at the golf course and I've been pleased. Springvale and Columbia Ballroom are SO different from one another! I'm surprised you'd be interested in both.

  • They both have the rustic look but springvale is more "city" rustic where columbia is like in the middle of no where counrty rustic. I feel like springvale is more organized and knows what they are doing. Have you heard anything about either ones food? I want to book but dont want to without trying the food and I can't try either of them until March and I'm afraid my date might be gone by then.

I am booked with Columbia for October 2013. Booked without trying the food but did so in December. It was delicious. Owner is the chef and is/was the chef at NASA Glenn. I've had nothing but a good experience with them so far. I wanted to bring my family in over the holidays when they were closed and she was more than accommodating (we all got sick and couldn't make it afterall). I would be happy to answer any questions you have

  • Springvale was great until we went for our tasting. The server didn't even know what she was giving us. She made up what she thought it was. Food was ok at best. Regardless, the ballroom was very pretty and the coordinator seemed organized and was willing to move pieces of packages around to fit into various budgets. We gave up our date. They book quickly. As for Columbia, when we went to look there, they did not have any pricing or menus this past December...sounds like they were able to get it together shortly after meeting with us from the previous posterThey just knew they were going with an employees son who was branching out from Acorn catering to start his own business. Bare in mind, Columbia's surroundings are lack luster. It would take some imagination. Good luck.
  • www.americanwildernesscampground.com/eventcenter.html if you are still looking to go rustic. My friend just had her wedding here. It's smaller than the other two, but is was rustic and you were allowed to bring your own beverages which keeps down cost.
  • Does anyone have menu/pricing info? If so, can you send it to me at shaina0707@yahoo.com? Trying to find a venue for 250-300 people and places are booking fast for 2014!
