FI and I have been talking about getting another cat, so today we're going down to the animal shelter! I don't know if we will come home with one today, but I'm still excited.

I hope so! We adopted Alice, our first cat, at the local shelter about two years ago. This is a pic of her now, she's not spoiled or anything...

YAY for adopting. Both of our fur-babies (dogs) are former shelter animals.

OH and Binx- every time I see a picture of your cat I bust out laughing at the faces that kitty gives the camera.

Yay for shelter babies! My puppy is a shelter dog, and we want another one but we're waiting until we're married (since we are living with my parents for the summer, and I don't think they'd be thrilled if we showed up with another dog).

Well we didn't see any cats that we fell in love with, but there were two puppies that were very hard to leave behind.

Check petfinder.com It will list pets available from most shelters and rescues in your area. I prefer to adopt from rescues that foster their animals in homes as opposed to keeping them in cages. They are usually more socialized.
