Pipe and Drape

Is anyone doing pipe and drape for their ceremony?

If so, where did you go to get and how much?

I found a company that can do for $35 per 10 ft section but the only colors they have are black and ivory and I would like white. I would like to stay in that price range too.

I will have a stage which will be black but I thought maybe white draping as the backdrop would look nicer than black draping but I dont know. Probably because I havent been able to find pics on the internet withe black stage/black draping ceremonies.

LOL. so many details to weddings.

  • What's wrong with Ivory? I don't think it would be that drastic of a difference TBH

They have ivory but they said its not a solid ivory. It has dark specs in it and they said you would be able to see the specs. I would have been happy had it been a solid ivory because my dress is ivory.

I would probably try to find another company.

I will try to find a review on wedding wire.

Ive looked but so far everyone has been double the price of the first company. I might just have to end up with black.

  • Honestly, I think a lot of girls have decided to forego draping in favor of spending that money on something better.  It's so expensive for a little detail that, unless you are covering ugly walls or something, no one would miss.

I agree. The ceremony draping alone is just about $100 which would be doable but my higher cost come in having to drape off an area so the public cannot see my ceremony and its more intimate........its in downtown dallas outside on the side of the hotel........so I really dont want to see cars driving by and people walking lol. it would be a distraction.

GMG - I used Dallas Drape & Light for our wedding.   In the end, it did cost quite a bit but Noel and his team will work with you to find the most cost effective solution.  To give you a ballpark, we started with a $6,000 quote for a draped ceiling ballroom, 50 lights for uplighting in the ballroom, a draped sweetheart table, drapes on either ends of the ballroom to cover up the window coverings in place, drapes on the ballroom entrance and about 70 yards of swagging along the walkway to the aisle to soften the ceremony space.  After buying our house, we didn't have 6k left in the budget for non-essentials like draping and I let Noel know that.  I think we paid $3000 for everything but the ceiling and the entrance, and Noel added pinspots on the tables and draped our dancefloor for free.

The only downside to DD&L is their communication.  Noel can be a bit slow to respond to emails/calls, but he has hired an assistant to help out with that.

As for white draping, Noel has multiple levels of draping (from poly blends up to chiffon) in just about any color you ask for.  He also has gorgeous beaded curtains, pillars and chandeliers to hide things behind :)

ETA: Don't worry girls, I am only back long enough to post reviews.  Those will be up by tomorrow-ish.
