Help! Bridesmaid dresses

Is anyone finding bridesmaid dress shopping to be a miserable experience?  I thought my friends and sisters were nice and easy going before this experience. How do you find  something every very opinionated bridesmaid without driving yourself crazy. Help!!

    I picked a color ahead of time and let the girls look for dresses in the salon by the same designer. This way, they each got a dress they were comfortable in.

    I did the same thing as PP.  Picked the color, length and designer and told them to find a dress.

    me too. although i have a small bridal party so it wasn't too bad. we went to the designer's showroom so they could try on different dresses, and they all ended up liking the same dress so it worked out.

    I did the same, I said you can have any Alfred Angelo dress, I suggested that they be long just because it was winter time, but all of them chose sleeveless dresses...I did not keep my mouth shut when one complained about the cold..lol

    i did the same....wanted Navy, designer and fabric and my ONLY request was that it be full length.  Some girls gave suggestioins as did i.  I sent a big email with all the photos and when i went to look for bridal gowns my MOHs picked two dresses saying that they loved the fabric (chiffon) and that it would look good on anyone.  We reported back and the other girls came from boston and we all went.  it ended up not being that bad but thankfully, the mohs took the reins the one day and made a decision and that was that.  We ended up with Alfred Angelo and they all ended up liking the same dress and all ended up wanting it strapless...go figure!
