Need a favor...

Recently some of you girls have checked their favors off your lists. Just curious what you decided on?

Re: Need a favor...

  • I think anything other than food tends to be thrown out or lost eventually.

  • We are doing favor boxes with Jordan Almonds in them, and water bottles with personalized labels.

  • For my wedding in June, we had favor boxes from Walmart with personalized M&Ms in them- they were our wedding colors and had A&A 6.25.11 printed on them. Then we tied a blue ribbon and a little card on them that said "He loves me, he loves me not. He loves me, we tied the knot." with a daisy background.

  • I'm using M&Ms in little favor boxes.  I got just the colored M&Ms with out a special inscription in our three wedding colors and will mix them together in the boxes.

  • I'm currently in the process of ordering my favors, and I'm having York peppermint patties with a tag that says "'Mint' to be together 6/30/2012" as my favors (each person gets 2-3 mints depending on how many I order).

We're definitely doing something edible. I am seriously considering making these roast pecans I do every year for Christmas as favors. With only 25 guests it shouldn't be too bad.

I have also thought about doing a caramel apple, since we're getting married on the first day of Fall.

Another things we considered is getting bags of Florida Seasoning and Chesapeake Seasoning from Penzey's and packaging those into two small bottles for guests. We have quite a few foodie guests and it will represent where we are both from. This really is our favorite idea but might be a bit more expensive.

I love this idea! I am horrible at quirky little wordings like that.

    Thanks for the ideas girls!!!
  • I'm planning on having a photobooth, so the pictures the guests take will be the favor since they wil be personalized with our names & the date.

  • We did scented candles (yellow and green for our wedding colors) with our monogram on them and boxed them in white gift boxes...

  • I think we're leaning towards doing a candy bar - preferably in our wedding colours: Red, White and Black.

Should be interesting to see what candies are out there in our colours.

  • I am in the proccess of making our favors.  I am using the Hershey's nugget candies which I can get in the the party variety pack.  Then i used return address lables to make the wrappers in our wedding colors.  They are turning out great so far.  I already have several vintage pink depression glass bowls to put the candy in on the tables.  I am thinking 2 bowls per table with little tags with a cute saying or something so that they know to help them selves.  Plus we are having a cookie table and I have ordered chinese take out boxes and will do lables for those so that the guests can take home cookies and or cake in them.

  • we have personalized decks of cards and then sugar cookies (shaped like wedding dresses) and cake pops

  • If we have it in our budget we will be getting a photobooth and the printed photos will serve as a 'favor'.

If not, I'm thinking cupcake truffles or cakepops.

  • Anna - what did you serve in your candy buffet?
  • We're having a candy buffet w/ 8 different candies:
    1. colored M&M's (lavender & white)
    2. dark chocolate hershey's kisses
    3. ringpops
    4. purple/green/white jelly bellies
    5. york ppmt patties
    6. skittles
    7. reeses pb cups
    8. some kindof gummy food - either bears or sour rings.

We just did the math on the favors and think it'll cost us about $300 for everything.  We're going to buy most of them from Candywarehouse.com, but are also buying some during easter (pastel wrappers for the ppmt patties & reeses).

I totally want to do cake pops. They are so delicious! I'm just afraid they would be really expensive.

  • We will be doing theese cute coffee mugs, but the idea is that they will be used for tea. Inside the mug will be a purple mesh bag with tea, honey, sugar and spenda and then this super cute bow and adorable little tag tied to the handle. I love tea and the favors are super cute. I am hoping everyone will enjoy my amazing tea. We will also be doing a candy, cookie, pasrty buffet to go along with the cake and ice cream or to take home.
  • We just figured out what our favors are going to be.

We're getting married in Vegas, so for our Vegas reception, we're just going to get everyone a $5 poker chip from where we get married, and put it in a pink organza bag.

For our home town reception, since FI and I love to cook, we're giving away spices. We love Penzeys for spices, and they already have some beautiful glass jars anyways, so we're just going to add a tag that says "love is the spice of life" on one side, with our wedding date on the other. Couldn't be simpler.
