When I shower, unless I am doing something else with chemicals that can damage it (like when we were resealing our driveway last year). Otherwise I wear it all the time, even at work when I'm wearing gloves the entire time I am working with patients and have to change them like 40 times a day! I've just gotten used to pulling the glove out & over my diamond =]

I used to wear my ring 24/7, but after I cut my nose with it when I was sleeping, I stopped (I sleep with my hands under the pillow, I must have tried to scratch an itch or something)

I don't take it off ever. I am a nurse and wash my hands and pull gloves on and off a million times a day, but when we bought the setting we made sure it was a low profile one just for that reason.

I take mine off when I am doing dishes and when I sleep. Other than that, it's on my finger!

I do when I shower and do the dishes. I read once that dish washing soap can stratch the diamond so I am like super nervous of that now. And I'm scared it will fall off in the shower.

When I shower, do dishes, clean with any chemicals, handle poo, guts, or doing dentals at work (vet tech) or paint! That may sound like I don't wear it very much but I really do

Mine’s a high profile ring, and gets knocked around a lot. FI always complains that it scratches him…his fault.

I used to wear it 24/7, but I recently had to leave it at Jared’s for repairs, and when I got it back it was REALLY shiny. It showed me how much I’ve been beating it up.

Now I take it off when I shower, when I workout, when I am cooking (with my hands, like meatloaf or something), when I am doing yard work, and when I sleep. Unfortunately I don’t always remember to put it back on.

I take it off for dishes or washing my hair, thats about it....For all the nurses who have commented, congrats on not losing your ring....I am going to share my friends recent heartbreak with you so maybe you can avoid it...

My friend, a nurse in a hospital has been married for 5 years, always wears her rings to work has never had a problem...until one day after a nightshift when she took off her gloves and they were not there, she was absolutly devestated, searched everywhere she had been, checked garbages that she had removed gloves in (a bad idea in a hospital but she was devestated), asked the cleaning staff etc. She figures that because there was a new brand of gloves that they had recently switched over to that was slightly courser than the old gloves, it somehow got caught and came off, and are now gone. Everyone thinks it will never happen to them, and they will be more careful then someone else, but it can happen, and I hope it doesnt happen to any of you who insist it wont.

I wear gloves often for foodsafe (was working in a residential setting and my diamond often snagged on the gloves, but I never lost it and am super concious of it whenever i take goves off, but since hearing this story, I take my ring off every time (dont even wear it work most of the time anymore because then I dont worry).

I take my ring off when I put lotion on (so it doesn't get gunky) and if I'm doing something sticky in the kitchen like dealing with meatloaf. Otherwise it's on 100% of the time!

I take mine off when I sleep, shower, do dishes, clean or just feel like getting comfy in my sweats after a long day at work.

usually it's the first thing I take off when I'm done for the day and the last thing I put on before I leave the house.

I take it off when I play sports and/or exercise, and that is it. I clean with it on, I sleep with it on, etc.

I usually take it off as soon as I get home from work and then put it back on whenever I'm leaving the house (unless I'm going to the gym or the beach, I don't wear it there either). Seems like I don't wear it a lot, hmmmm.

I'm trying to get into the habit of wearing it even when I'm just hanging around the house.

I take my ring off when I shower and do my hair, when applying lotion, and when I'm doing the dishes or gunky kitchen stuff. Other than that, I wear it all the time! Sidenote: I'm not wearing it at all for the next 16 days because I just got my rings soldered together and replated, and I want them to stay shiny until the wedding day! My finger feels NAKED!
