Newly Engaged, planning so far...

Hello Ladies,

I am new to this board, as I am newly engaged, but look forward to all of your help with planning! So far we have a date (12-1-12) and a venue: Roger Williams Park Casino.

I am meeting with Caterers next week, including Blackstone (karen has been SO nice!) as well as Emery's, West Bay Gourmet and Tom's Market...any advice from brides that have used these vendors would be helpful!

Also - we are looking at Bands - so far have quotes from the Free Downloads and GQ and the Lady - anyone hae experience with these Bands? Preference or other recomendations would be so helpful!

    I am having Steve Anthony & the Persuasion, they are amazing!!  I've seen them at other weddings & they always have people up dancing.  They were also just featured on the front page of the entertainment section of the Pro Jo.

    I used GQ & The Lady for my wedding and we just loved them.  Linda is such a sweetheart!!

    I know - I have been speaking with Linda on the phone about upcoming gigs so we can check them out first and she is such a doll.  We are actually going to see them tomorrow night at a bar.  Island_bride, did all of your guests love the band? We have a large younger crowd so our expectations are high for the band!

    When I was interviewing caterers I really liked Cozy Caterers but i ended up choosing a venue I didnt need a caterer.

    You may also want to check out "Cover To Cover" band. They were extraordinarily good at our DD's wedding 9/17/11. Everybody was out on the dance floor the entire evening. My husband is a musician and said they were very talented. Frankie, the band leader is very responsive by email and a real pleasure to work with.
