Hammonasset state park

Has/is anyone here had or been to a wedding at Hammonasset or another state park?

I don't want a traditional wedding and FI wants a super casual celebration with friends so we're tying to compromise. The plan would be to get married just the two of us on the beach and then we were thinking that renting a pavillion at Hammonasset would be a great location for a BBQ celebration for our guests to show up after.

I'm just unclear if there is a permit required for getting married in the public setting.

Any input would be greatly appreciate, we're still very much in the early planning stages.

My cousin got married at Rocky Neck and it was beautiful. It holds a lot of people thought so it may not work for you if you want a small wedding. Another place to look would be Westbrook Elks. Sorry I'm not much more of a help.

It depends on the park. In Stamford, you need a permit. I'd check the town's website/call them directly.

My mom's coworker's daughter got married at Hammonnassett and rented the pavillion for the reception. Apparently it was a really great place, but I remember hearing something about weird requirements for alcohol.......I believe they could only serve wine and beer, no hard liqour.
