I also looked at The Doubletree Hotel; North Wilmington, DE. Ed Oliver's Golf Club; Wilmington, DE. Brandywine Country Club; Wilmington, DE.
I have nice things to say about the people I spoke with at The Doubletree and Ed Oliver's. They got back to me very quickly... and were very accomodating, but ultimately we went with the Clarion because we have a personal connection with that space. My dad worked there ages ago, and it's where I had my first piece of wedding cake. No place else can compete with that touch.

Just wondering.. my family has gone there for years (long before Brother Ronald took it over).
That was my FI's grandfather's church.... he volunteered there and worked there for YEARS. He's been gone for almost 7 years now, and they still do a mass in his memory every month. Gzilla (my FI) was very close with his grandfather, so getting married there was our way of keeping him part of the ceremony.
My hometown parish is an hour away, and even though it's a beautiful church, I really didn't want to get married in Pottstown; I wanted to get married in Delaware.
We did have to jump through a few hoops, though. In order to get married at Sacred Heart, you *must* be a member of the Oratory... and if you're a new member, you have to be a family member of a longstanding member. I also signed up to be a cantor... and that didn't hurt either. If your family still goes there, they probably hear me sing once a month.
