Boudoir

Hey ladies, I can't see any posts other than Wednesday accountability and then stuff from last week. :( Am I the only one? I hope this posts, if not, I'll ask again when TK isn't being so stupid, lol.

Anyway, I saw some posts on FB and I see a lot of you girls are interested in doing it, as am I. I didn;t want to post there since I share FB with FI and I want to surprise him with it on wedding day. But the only places I've seen are close to $1000 and I feel like that is nuts. On average, how much do these things cost? Like, what should I be prepared to spend? I know I am in NY and things are higher priced here than most places, but I'm still interested to know what everyone else is paying or thinks it should cost so I can make sure I don't overpay if I do this. I mean, am I nuts to think this shouldn't be more than like, $200-$300?

Re: Boudoir

  • I've seen groupons for boudoir packages before, so you might want to check that regularly. I think my photographer does them for around $300.

  • The average I've seen around here for a package with multiple outfits and makeup done by them usually run about $400.

  • Looks like the general range in my area is about $300-800. There is one package through one girl that is done at a super swank downtown hotel and she brings in hair and MUA and it's $3000, which seems insane to me. But I'd prefer to do it at a hotel I think. I don't know, I guess I could have it done at my house.

  • I would prefer to do it at a hotel too. I'm also afraid that if I use one too cheap it's going to be some sleazebag, lol. I'll try checking groupon to see if I can get a deal, and then try to shop around. I could probably do my own makeup/hair to save money. I also remember seeing a place that provided outfits, but I'll definetly bring my own so I know only I've ever worn it, lol. Thanks ladies.

  • I booked one for the end of August and she's $225 for 1.5 hours of picture taking with up to 3 outfit changes and a 45 minute session with a make up artist before the shoot that includes false eyelashes. Then her "little black book" album costs about $200 so it's $425 total. She does the session in her studio and said she has some furniture that she uses.

  • Mine were included with our photography package! I just have to then pay for whatever prints I order or the rights to the photos (about $100 each). That and if I want to travel away from the studio, there is a small fee. I actually booked my shoot on my birthday in April, ha. I'm planning on doing a full day of pampering that day: hair trial, makeup trial, and then some racy pictures, ha!

Maybe there are some photographers outside the city that would do it for less, since that seems a bit excessive cost wise. good luck!
  • So I loved this, and so does my FI he keeps the book I made him of the pictures in our safe lol for his use when I'm not home... I browsed around my local board and found a girl about fifteen mins from my house who has her own studio and mock hotel room in her house for boudoir photos. I paid 250 for about 2 hours and got to do 6 outfits and I had the digital copy of the photos in about two weeks. It was sweet :)
