  I agree, that she should wear whatever she wants. Most moms though will pick something that at least coordinates. My FMIL  told me to let her know what she needed to wear, this threw me off but then I thought about her other DIL and realized she probably told her exactly what to wear. I simply told her wear whatever you are comfortable in, here are the colors I'm using if you want to wear something that coordinates.  Other than that, I left it open to her to pick out whatever she wants.

  I told my mom and FMIL to wear whatever color they wanted.  The bridal shop told them they probably want to stay away from the wedding colors, and especially what the girls were wearing.  I really didn't care though either way.  People at a wedding are smart enough not to confuse the MOB or MOG wth the bridesmaids.  I would tell them to wear whatever they want.

  Whatever she's comfortable in-- MOB/MOG don't have to match wedding party-- sometimes it can be too much

  The moms can wear whatever they want along with the fathers. they aren't actually in the wedding party. my mom is wearing a purple dress because my favorite color is purple but she knew he could wear what ever color she wanted. She chose the purple dress

  I told my mom to wear whatever she wants but my colors are canary yellow and riveria blue..she said she is wearing a blue to go with my wedding!
