Tip Q??

I just (haha yes I know I am so behind) added up all the tips for everyone that I need to get ready by Sat. Did you/Are you planning on delivering them in a "Thank You" card or just in a white envelope? I need to go out and get all the GCs so I figured I need to figure out if I should get cards too. .... I figure now that I think about it... I should just do cards.... *le sigh* Another thing to do.

Another Q-- would you do $30 or $40 for a WP member?

Re: Tip Q??

  • I put them in a thank you card and wrote inside each one "Thanks for being a part of our special day ~ Amy and Chris Lastname"

Why are you tipping a wedding party member?  A nice thank you note should be fine.

    This.

My gift includes their jewelry, a pashmina and an individualised gift of about $30-$40 per girl. One is getting a necklace, another an engraved martini shaker set, another a platter from pottery barn, one yoga stuff, another cooking stuff...all for their own interests. I blew the budget on this for six BM and two PA. oops :)

I was in a wedding were part of our gift was $30 towards a beauty service the day before (manis/pedis) or day of (hair/makeup). In the mid-west, the attendants always take care of their own beauty routines as most brides 'suggest' but do not require they be done.  I know the east coast is much different on this point. (Ps I've never been in a wedding where we didn't have our hair professionally done.)
  • ok...I know we have been here before...but help me out.
    Who gets tip?

Venue/cateror (same person running the venue and food)?
    Photographer...and her assistant?
    DJ?
    Officiant (also my boss-judge)?
Cake baker? (her cake was a gift to us)?

Does your coordinator work for the hotel, or did you hire him/her?  I have a coordinator through my venue but I do not think she did anything to really help me OR make me feel confident that the wedding was goign to go off worry free!
  • The coordinator works for the hotel and is in charge of all events there.  Her title is sales manager and has been working as interim general manager.  Again, small town, but I know that this girl works her tail off for very little money.  My brother used to work there and talks a lot of staff turn over.  The owner is a jerk but the employees need the jobs.   The girl I've been working with has been great with correspondance over my many, many emails and phone calls.  I believe she will do a good job based on recommendations so that all gives me good reason to tip her.
