  I can tell you that I still have moments of regret regarding my dress. The reason why is not because I am having second thoughts on the dress I picked, but I fell in love with another dress that, as gorgeous as it was, was not me, which was why I couldn't bite the bullet and make the purchase. As gorgeous as I felt in the dress, I felt like a different person, like I was pretending to be someone I wasn't. Does that make sense? But I kept myself open and managed to find a dress that still made me feel as awesome as the other dress did, but like me.
  
  I love the dress that I purchased, but I will never forget that feeling out of my head that I felt when I tried on this other gorgeous princess ballgown...something that I felt out of place in, but at the same time, felt so amazingly beautiful.
  
  If you're really having second thoughts, but there's nothing you can do, see if there's anything you can do to customize your look. Add something to the dress maybe? Find the most beautiful jewelry...just a thought.

  It isn't about how much you spent on your dress, it all about how you FEEL in your dress.  I also bought my dress at DB and I went back to try other dresses on. After trying six of them I asked to see my dress and when I put it on for the second time I stopped second guessing myself.
  
  I'm sure it's perfect and I don't think buying a dress at DB means you are cheap.

  I do FEEL great in it- perhaps since I haven't been in it for such a long time...
  
  I think it's silly to think just because it's from DB means it's cheap- I use to work there and the only reason why it's reasonably priced is because these are mass produced gowns- there's virtually no wait time to receive the dress.
  
  I guess I just see too many girls going to bridal salons and getting designer brands including my friend and I just get a little envious. And that feeling of- what if I just went to one of those stores.
  
  Who btw didn't carry my size and that is why I didn't go to them.

  Oh gosh, I feel for you.  I was in the dress regret stage for a loong time.  When I was shopping, I knew I wanted lace & sparkle.  But after I ordered my gown, I had so many doubts... was it the right one?  will it be flattering?  is it too much?  does it look like im trying to be something im not? should I have gotten a dress w ruching so itd be more flattering? am i going to look fat? am i going to look ridiculous?  SO many doubts running through my head!  And it certainly doesnt help that in my case, the sample was several sizes too small and I was just guessing at how it might look.  Plus I kept seeing pics of other brides looking so amazing in simple satin gowns and I liked the look so much that I wasnt sure if I picked the wrong dress entirely.
  
  Fast forward to my first fitting.  The dress fit me like a glove, was so gorgeous and so flattering, I looked awesome in it!  My point is, trust your initial instinct and be comforted that this is a phase that a lot of women go through--just look at the attire board any single day!  and dont worry about where you bought it--the dresses at DB are just as pretty and your dress is also very pretty and think of it this way--trendy looks dated quickly, but classic is classic!  AND-its not super princessy-TRUST ME!

  I remember when looking like a cupcake was super trendy and I really wanted that look- now it's fading out and I'm glad I didn't got for it.
  
  The one type of look I keep seeing on everyone is the fit and flare- I have seen no lie- around 30 brides on other bridal sites that own the same fit n flare, with ruching and the sparkly piece right under the boob.
  
  I think since that is IN right now I keep seeing that and I wonder about my dress. But that's probably why i  didn't go in the fit n flare route- because it is a trend right now.
  
  I also feel like I'll be TOO princess like, I have a tall tiara and extravagant jewelry, but I am toning it down after the ceremony.

  I'm sorry, are you walking around with a sign saying "I bought my gown at David's Bridal"????  It's no one's business where you bought it or what it cost.  My dress wasn't a ton of money, but no one except my mom, FMIL and MOH who were with me when I bought it know the price.  As PP said, it's all about how you feel in the dress.  It's gorgeous.  You're wearing it for one day of your life.  If you feel gorgeous in the dress, that's all that matters.

  I had the exact same issue, and had a talk with my mom about it (who was also sweet and kind enough to buy me my dress).  She was just as upset as I was knowing that I bought the dress I thought I should be buying, rather than what I really wanted (I'm not sure I really knew what I wanted at that point.) 
  My dress was from DB, too, and was non-refundable - however, they and my very understanding mother are letting me credit that money toward my BM dresses (which I was going to get from there, anyway), and I am paying my mother back the money for that dress.
  I later found my perfect dress at a sample sale, for not much more than the cost of the original DB dress.

  I think that this is normal.  I had the worst case of dress regret for a while there.  I bought my dress and loved it, I even cried because I was so happy.  Then a few days later I started having doubts.  I just kept thinking that maybe it was the wrong dress and that I should have kept shopping for a while instead of buying at the second store I went to. 
  Two weeks ago after losing an entire night's sleep, I called my bridal salon to see if I had any options, of course I had none, so the sales girl suggested that I come in to retry my dress.  I left work early!!!! Dragged my cousin who is 9 months pregnant with me and drove over an hour.  I tried on my dress and immediately loved it again. LOL..
  The moral of the story is that your first instinct about your dress was probably right, and everything that you are feeling is perfectly normal!!

  It's normal because I felt this way too, but in regards to the David's bridal thing I agree with "it's no ones business"!!!

  After I bought my dress, I had the same sort of regret feeling.  It didn't really help that I wouldn't see the dress for another 9 months.  I just had my fitting a few weeks ago and fell in love with my dress all over again.  When it comes into the shop and you're able to see it in your size (and it's clean!) I think you'll forget about doubting the dress.
  
  And who cares if you got it from David's Bridal??  The price you paid isn't anyone else's business and you're going too look so wonderful on your wedding day that I doubt anyone will be guessing the pricetag!!

  I agree 100%....when I found my dress, it was like 3 sizes too big on me, but I decided it was the one. Then, I ended up ordering it from somewhere else that didn't even have the sample. So I didn't get to try it on again right before I ordered it. That was in January, and I didn't get to try it on/see it again, until it came in 5 or 6 months later. During that time, I kept looking at pics of it online (I hadn't taken pics of me in the sample), and was beginning to think I had made a mistake.
  But once I went to try on MY dress, I fell in love with it all over again, and I knew I had picked the right one.

  i got sooo many compliments on my David's Bridal dress. One person asked where it was from and she was astonished to hear that it was from DB. They get a bad rap, but screw people who think that way! 

  
  

  I felt dress regret too. In the end, I couldn't justify spending more money (I already spent $1100 between the dress and accessories) on a new dress. I looked beautiful on the day, I got many compliments, and I think I will have wonderful pictures. 

  
  

  There are sooooo many dresses out there! So many will look great on you! There must be something special about the dress if you picked it.

  I completely had dress regret - even after I went for my first fitting and my mom almost cried seeing me in it and telling me how pretty I was....I felt like "eh - I don't know"
  
  Now that my wedding has come and gone, I'm completely happy with my dress and don't think I would've wanted anything else.  I think every bride goes through second-guess phases....dress, venue, flowers....something or everything! 
  
  I think it's nice that this is your mom's gift to you...very sweet and makes it a little more sentimental.  The phase willl pass.....don't worry about it!

  Omg what you are feeling is totally normal. Wait until you try everything on and see the entire package. Your dress is absolutely gorgeous and you can accessorize it down or up depending on your style. If you originally wanted princess, and were to change at this point, you might doubt that too. 6 days out from my wedding, last night I wondered if I should've been more "bride-y". And I absolutely love, LOVE my dress. So it's normal. Don't worry. :-) Edit: oh and Davids is a part of Priscilla of Boston. Even if they don't use the same factories, the demand for quality and perfection is the same.

  I can understand where you're coming from but my advice is STOP LOOKING.  You picked your dress for a reason.  Think about all of those reasons and keep reassuring yourself of why you picked it!
