    Haha....gorgeous.....you are correct, it is a Greek tradition.  But not everyone does it.  I have never been to one, but my cousin's had one....big huge affair.  But it was NOTHING compared to their actual wedding.  We speculated their wedding was upwards of $300,000.  

    When my mom asked me if I would rather have had a down payment on a house, I informed her that they got that as well.  His parents gave them their 2 story, four bed, 3 bath, no mortgage house.....because the parents were moving to Greece.

    Some people have all the luck.

    Yeah I know a couple doing this now. They paid their photag to fly to Greece with them to take their E-pics. They are getting married around here in Boston. Can't wait to see those wedding pics.

    Wow.  I wonder what their wedding will be like!

    I'm really glad you posted this - I've been searching and searching for centerpieces that I like and I'm bookmarking this!

    Kat- I know what you mean.  I always wonder about this when people have really big rehearsal dinners.  It's really nice but I think I would be uncomfortable with so much attention on me so many times.
