Funday Monday

What did everyone do over the weekend? It was beautiful out, hope you enjoyed!

On sat, I had some family come up from nj; we went the peekskill celebration for a lil while and out to dinner. Also, DH got the owners of our soon-to-be new house to rent the top floor to my MIL where she'll be living when the house is ours. So I've been going downstairs to my apartment looking at things and admiring =) lol

Sunday- went to bj's and the fam went home.

I had a pretty productive weekend and didn't realize it until last night when I was telling FI about it.
To start, we got the Jr. Bridesmaids and one of my Bridesmaids dresses ordered and the sizes were perfect, so for now it looks like no alterations.  All the girls have ordered their dresses now.
I made sample menu cards - 12 down 48 to go
    I ordered my invitations (yeah)
And last but not least, FI finally asked his friend to be his third Groomsman (big relief)
All in all a great weekend  :)

It was eventful for us.  We haven't been out with friends in a while and on Friday we saw Dinner for Schmucks with some friends.  Saturday, my dad had his car towed up here for my husband to put a new tranny in (he's a mechanic).  Then at night, we had our friends engagement party (one of my bridesmaids :)).  We went out with the boys afterwards.  On Sunday, we made sauce with the family all day, so now we are set for the year!  Then, husband's family wanted to see all the honeymoon pics so we watched them in a slideshow on the tv!  Great weekend!

Watched Kick Ass on red box dvd sunday....cool movie...not a kids movie like I thought it was...if you have kids DO NOT LET THEM WATCH

We also did our ceremony setup and sent it to the reverend so he can overlook it and we can throw some ideas around.

We had a very low key weekend....
Friday night we went out for dinner (awesome sushi!) and then met up with friends for some drinks.

Saturday we went to Macy's and Bed Bath and Beyond to buy some odds and ends off of our registries.  We had soem towel sets to complete and the rest of our placemats and napkins to get and wanted to get them with our gift cards before they were discontinued.

Yesterday FI had work, but afterwards we drove down to my parents for dinner.

    Some exciting news -
We are not actively house hunting and don't plan to be until after the wedding.  However, I received an e-mail about a house that was just listed that is well within our price range, newly renovated, in the school district we wanted to live in and only minutes from the parkway and transportation.  So, Thursday I have an appointment to go look at it with my mom - it's a legal two family, my parents would be buying with us.  Who knows....we may wind up finding something earlier than we thought!!!

Good luck with house hunting,it is very stressful.we looked at a million houses and couldnt find anything that we wanted, just as we were about to give up our agent called us with a house that had not gone on the market yet and said if we liked it he would put a bid on it before they released the information to the public,we look at it and loved it so much that we put in for the asking price and we got it.

if you need a great real estate agent let me know, our guy was amazing.Even when he was on Vac he would call us and let us know about houses in our price range(if we liked any he would send someone else out with us to look at it within a few hours)

We had a *great* weekend -- we had our annual camping trip with some of our friends (I think there were 11 of us total). We had a great site right on the Delaware, went kayaking on Saturday, had perfect weather and good friends. It was wonderful and so relaxing =)

Thanks so much!  I may take you up on the name for the realtor once we start "really" looking.

Some of our friends think we are nuts buying a house with my parents.  I love the idea of having my mom near me, especially since we don't plan on waiting very long to have children.  FI keeps mentioning that he'll have my parents closer for home cooked meals!!  He and my dad actually have a really good relationship and my parents don't need to be taking care of their house at their age, so it's a win-win for all off us!!

I'll keep you posted on the house! :)

Friday I went to the Yankees/Red Sox game. Has a great time, the weather was perfect! Too bad the Yanks lost!

Saturday we finally went through storage and cleaned some of it out. Put our gifts from the bridal shower in there until we get a place in a few months. Ended up going out with some of DH's coworkers Sat night. Ended up being a late night!

I was hurting yesterday! Still tired today.

    I had one booooooooring weekend...
Friday night seems so long ago but we just stayed in.

Saturday we went to see FI mom's in the hospital / rehab (she had a stroke) she's been hospitalized for the past month now and there's lots of family drama going on with that between FI and his Ahole of a brother!!!! - who's a control freak! Bottom line FI and his brother are now not on speaking terms....grrrrrrrrrrreeeeeeeat :-(

Went out for Mexican Sat nite..Yum Mexican and a frozen margarita always puts me in a good mood. Aye yi yi yaaaaa :-)

Sunday - went to my sister's house to see the new siding on her house.
FI talked to the owners of the house we're renting to let them know I'm now "officially" moving in in October...(I'm happy & scared all at the same time) I'm SO not good w/ change but for once in my life this is a good change. but there's definitely not enough room for all my shoes (ugh) then FI cooked an awesome filet mignon for me and then I got the Sunday blues cause Monday was right around the bend.  The End.

Jaimie and Clare - Good luck with the housing! I would have have loved a two-family! But instead, we are building a mother-daughter. (And I am anxiously waiting for it t be done!:)

    This weekend -

On Friday I ran errands for parties this past weekend and next weekend. A birthday and bridal shower.

On Saturday, we went to my cousin's son's first birthday party. It was nice to see so many members of my family that I haven't seen since the wedding.

On Sunday, had breakfast with friends and spent part of the afternoon with my mom and sister. Then went home to be with my husband and continue to work on his parents album.

Still working on thank you cards this week. Got lazy, but got the ones that needed to be done so far! And have a bridal shower to go to on Saturday. Looking forward to it!
