Wedding Update Wednesday

Have anything to share this week?

I haven't done too much, but I now have all of my bridesmaids gifts purchased and in my possession.  I might add a fancy soap or something later, but they're done for now.  I also have half of my hostess gifts for my shower purchased.

I added a little more stuffing to my ringbearer pillow because it was bothering me.  I'm glad I did; it was really easy to open half of 1 side up and then re-sew it.

Wow, it feels like I've been busy, but it just hasn't added up to much...

    I found a bunch more vintage books at an estate sale for my centerpieces and my friend gave me her grandmother's sewing basket to use as my card box. It's too cute! I wish I had a picture to share with you. I don't have any grandparents, so I've been capitalizing on my bridesmaid's grandparents for my vintage centerpiece items.

    I also got another quote from a photographer, which I count as progress since I'm about paralyzed with indecision about who to go with. I keep asking other people for opinions and all I get is "that's nice." That doesn't help me decide, people!

    Well, I dont have a wedding plan for anymore, but Im my sisters MOH in October so Ill just throw out there what going on with that...and Im gunna have to rant a tad.

    My sister lives in Roch but theyre getting married here...so shes coming in this weekend to pick out BM dresses. Her BFF (whom I care little for) is doing her best to act like the MOH (Im assuming b/c shes pissed I got asked over her). Well, Ive been home from my HM all of a week and Im about to break her in half.

    So BFF is a big girl and when having a brief discussion of BM dresses when my sister picked her wedding dress out, BFF says "Theres only one style tht works for me so we're gunna have to wear tht" YEAH OK! Needless to say I was relieved when sisters 2 roch friends couldnt make it this weekend and it would be just her, me, and my SIL. Until I get an email from BFF stating that sister and 2 roch friends will look at dresses Thurs out there and pick their favs, then me and SIL can choose from those. Youre kidding right? Can we say "Over Bridgetts Dead Body" ?! Shes MY sister and I am the MOH....so you had better believe I will try on whatever dress I damn well please. My sister is 100% welcome to chose the dress SHE likes best and I will be sure she isnt chosing it simply b/c her big mouthed BFF says thats all she looks good in.

    People are inherently stupid. Weddings make it painfully obvious -- KevinandMonica

    I found looking at photographer's websites was very overwhelming.  I must have looked at thousands and thousands of pictures.  I eventually narrowed it down to 2 myself, then FI and I both met with them and formed our own opinions based on the meeting and their work.  Then I asked my mom if she saw a difference in the two photog's photos online.  She confirmed what I already thought and then we booked one!

    The only thing I have (semi) accomplished this week is deciding on centerpieces, so I'm in the process of getting the things together for those.

    Oh, and my grandma gave me this super cute guest book to use. I didn't really want to have one and was looking into making a thumb print tree instead, but the one she got is very unique and I like it.

    I am so overwhelmed by flash slideshows right now! Twice I found a photog that I thought was "IT" no matter what they cost, but they couldn't do my wedding for one reason or another. The photogs they recommended instead were just not the same. Right now I like Jeffrey Foote (isn't he yours? If not you then he's someone else on here.), Tess Moran (Monica's rec), Felici Studios, and laure lillie.  FI is very worked up about the cost of a good photographer so that hinders his ability to help me objectively look at their work...

    Good memory!  Yes, Jeffrey Foote is my photographer.  Sorry I won't be able to give you a wedding photo review for a while, but our engagement photos are really cute.  I think I'm going to have him go a little more artsy for some of the wedding photos though as the engagement ones were great shots, but overall basic poses.  I think he's definitely capable of both types.

    I paid for my wedding dress in full!  Now I just have to find a time to actually get out there (Albany).  We finalized wording and all that fun stuff on the invitations.  RSVP and reception cards are already printed, and we'll have everything this week!  I think I'm going to start addressing them tonight (fun, fun)!  I'm also going to put the finishing touches on my card box.  The stupid thing has been 90% done for months now and I'm tired of looking at it.  I finally figured out how I want to finish it!

    She was sooooo wonderful to work with!  I've got some teasers up in a newer post and can send you a link once I get more. 
    Our photog was our number one vendor to pick (after we settled on Glenora) and we were insanely picky about choosing someone who fit our style and our budget.  We were soooo lucky to stumble upon Tess and commented dozens of times about how truly blessed we were to have her capturing our special day.  I highly highly recommend her!!!  Hope that helps.

    Lol!  I'm sure yours will be very different and special (starting with a different bride and groom)... as far as the vendor-y stuff, I was very fortunate to work with some amazing vendors... if my recommendations can help a fellow bride out (because there are definitely some not-so-good ones out there) then that's even better!!!!  =)
