Who did you use for your engagement photos?

My fiance and I would like tog et engagement pictures taken this Spring, and we have no idea wehre to even start looking as far as photographers go in the area.  We're going to have a destination wedding, so a photographer in DC hasn't been a priority for us.

Who did you all use?  Were you happy with their work?

    Last year, on the recommendation of another knottie, we had our e-pics taken by William Fulsom at the Meadowlark Botanical Gardens in Vienna.  He is the resident photographer there and does wedding photography classes from time to time and uses models for his class shoots (free of charge, though we did tip him).  The gardens are beautiful, and the photos we got back from him and his class were better than our set of e-pics we had taken by a professional photograher in AK a few months later.

    I highly recommend Jim Johnson, who is in Washington, DC.  Check out his website to see if you like his style: http://www.picturestorystudio.com/.

    I have used Jim for annual family photos, ever since I my first wedding in 1992.  My relationship with Jim has lasted longer than my marriage did -- LOL!  I plan to use him for my upcoming (second) wedding in 2011.

    Definitely check out Ashley from Happy Heart Photography.  She has an amazing eye and a laidback attitude that helps you feel at ease the second you meet her!
