Retro and Vintage Weddings

New to the Vintage "Look"

So the more I plan/search for ideas the more I "notice" I'm loving the vintage/retro style... however I'm wondering what direction I'm going in?  This is a bit weird...asking this but I'm hoping you ladies can point me in what direction/era/year/style-ish I'm going in.... see pics below.
Colors are plum/eggplant, gold, ivory/champagne
I'm wanting to make little decorative brooches for the bouquets also out of buttons from my grandma/mother, etc.

My shoes

BM dress I love in this color

Love this hairstyle

I've tried this on (blushes--way too early, I know) and this is one of my absolute favorite dresses.  My grandmother is letting me borrow her ivory pearls as well.

LOVE this headpiece!

TIA!

  • Thank you Trae.  :)
  • def feels 1940s/50s to me, maybe bc my inspiration is the 50's :) i'm also wearing a birdcage veil, pics of it in my bio.
love the dress and the shoes are fabulous!

  • OMG  - your choices are just amazing and beautiful...I think consistency is key...when you find something you like, just see if it matches your colors and current picks...i.e. doesnt stick out like a sore thumb mismatching. I'm doing the vintage thing too and just like you...no idea where its headed but the more I look, the more I find items to narrow it down into a more consistent theme..GL - your stuff is really beautiul so I'm sure you won't go wrong on your choices.
  • I get more late 50's from the dress. Early 60's. The veil is kind of a clash of 40's, 50's and 60's. I lurve it.

I agree that everything looks very retro, but ... the hair inspiration looks very 1900s gibson girl to me.  Lovely combinations!  Here's more "gibson girl" hair pics.
