College girl needing help!

Hi all!
So here is the deal, i am working on planning my wedding for May of 2014 (why so early? because it seems all the good places book up so fast!).
I currently like in Fargo, ND where I go to NDSU as a Pre-Med student.
As you cam imagine, being a pre-med student our budget is pretty limited.
What were looking for is a venue that can hold both a ceremony and reception that is very cost friendly! (were hopint to keep the whole wedding, except my dress, under $5000)

Our Family lives in Princeton, MN (an hour north of the cities) so we dont want to go anywhere further south than the twin cities and nowhere north of Milaca area.

Does anybody have any good suggestions for us?

Any and all help will be more than appreciated!!Laughing

    If you're not opposed to moving the date up a little (though if you're in school that complicates things), Profile Event Center isn't much more than that Jan-Mar (even less on a Friday!). That's in Minneapolis. If you're looking for central MN, I don't know prices but Mulligan's, Kelly Inn, Holiday Inn (St Cloud), Blackberry Ridge, St. Cloud Country Club, and Miller Winery are all great. I've been to all but Mulligan's (though I haven't seen a wedding at the Holiday Inn yet, but that's where my friends are having their wedding). AFAIK they're all pretty decently priced but I don't have any exact numbers for you. Oh, also Joseph's in Avon, though they may not be able to do the ceremony. Decent space for a reception though!

    Hey there! Just started med school in MN this year, so I can totally relate to the budget thing.. lol :)

    There is The Ponds Golf Course (St Francis MN).  They do reception+ceremony.  You'd have to check for updated details, but when I was looking into things the room rental was like $400, no extra for holding the ceremony there (need to rent chairs though?), and there was no food and drink minimum (say what??). Super great value!

    I used to work at the Holiday Inn in St. Cloud. They can accommodate both the ceremony & reception at the hotel. The whole rental charge is $2000 but they have a discount of $3.50 for every dinner your order. For example 200 people would get you a credit of $700.00 off of the room rental charge. They also credit for whatever you spend on the bar service. All in all it's probably the best deal in St. Cloud. Call Rebecca at 320-656-3492 and ask for some details.

    We are getting married at Central Park in Woodbury.  We are just doing the ceremony there but they also do receptions at the same location.  It's really affordable, something to look into.  http://www.ci.woodbury.mn.us/facilities/central-park/weddings

    FI's cousins got married in a church in Aitkin, then had their reception at the 40 Club near downtown Aitkin. Their wedding was well below $5k, forget how many guests they had though.

    Pease built a reception hall a year or two ago (Northern Lights Ballroom I think is the name), also Milaca has the Pheonix Hotel/Ballroom, Jack and Jims in Duelm, or Henry's in Foley.  

    They might be your closest bet :)
