False Eyelashes

Anybody ever try them? Like them? Hate them? Any tips to share?

I'm seriously considering using them to make my eyes show up a bit better for the renewal photos.

Re: False Eyelashes

  • I'm not an everyday makeup person, but I used them for my sister's wedding this summer. I loved them. I had a makeup artist put them on, though.

  • Soprafina, I was thinking if I went that way, I'd buy some to get the hang of it before the big day. Did they feel funny? Were they hard to get off?

  • I was thinking of doing the same thing. I found this blog with an instructional video & step-b-step directions:

I'm not a very big make-up person so I need all the help I can get, haha.

  • I will be wearing them on my wedding day, applied by a makeup artist though. The ones that make up artists apply are individual little bunches of lashes versus the big strip. I cant stand the strip eyelashes, so I was surprised to have loved the ones my MUA put on at my trial.

  • I really want false eyelashes for our wedding. My makeup trial isn't until October though. Thanks for the video! Maybe I'll try some out prior to my trial.

  • The ones I had were the individual ones too. They didn't bother me at all. They didn't hurt when pulling them off, either.

  • My friend just got into this business and needed people to do it on for her portfolio.

I LOVED them and will definitely be getting them done for the wedding. I got the permenant ones so they stay on for weeks. It was really odd to not wear mascara as they were so full and dark that I didnt need to add any to my daytime look. At night though if I went out and added mascara - WOW!

  • I just watched the video. That lady makes it seem easy enough. I wonder how hard it is to put on the individual lashes. I've seen those at Wal Mart along with the strips.

Here are my before and afters from a couple angles. Unfortunately I don't have any with open eyes or with my make up to show you the 'WoW' factor vs reg (and I already have long lashes that I love!) When I get them put on in a couple weeks I'll add the open eye if anyone is interested.

That is quite a difference, sssdee! Your natural lashes really are nice, too. I've got MAYBE half that!

  • I wear them all the time for dressed up events because they just make a huge difference in the way my makeup looks. If never worn them definitely try out having them on beforehand because they do feel a little weird at first but after a few minutes I don't even notice them. And the strip ones are really easy to take off.

Thanks, Sjmiller. I'm looking forward to giving them a try? Btw, are they reusable or are you supposed to throw them away after each time worn?

    Julie

  • This nicer ones like from Mac I'll reuse a couple times depending on how they look but cheaper ones tend to get messed up easier so not as reusable.

  • I will be using them.  For the wedding I will have MUA put them on. I often wear them for special occasions and all photo shoots. I will typically put them on myself. It's not too hard to do. Just takes some practice.

  • I use them when I am going out for the evening, but they always end up bothering me and I take them off.  I have seen lots of videos on the individual ones and plan to try those (and practice a lot before the wedding).  I am obsessed with make up and will do my own for the wedding.

I did it! I put on my first pair of false eyelashes about 30 minutes ago. I didn't do a very good job. I can tell I need to get them closer to the lashline next time, but wow are they pretty! They aren't really bothering me at this moment, either. We'll see if I'm still ok with them when I go to take them off tonight!

  • Ok, so I wore my false eyelashes for about 5 hours. Seems like I completely forgot about them in about 45 minutes to an hour. When I took my makeup off, they stayed on while I washed my face, but came off easily with a simple tug.

    I'm sold! I love them!

  • I'm going to get them! My hair stylist is going to do them for me. I will prolly do a trial run later on to make sure I can see lol
