Morning!

Hi everyone!

What's everyone got in store for this Thursday?

I just looked in our bank account and I am getting paid!!! I didn't think I'd get a pay check since I stopped working BUT I forgot our salary is divided over 12 months so there is money that I've worked for but haven't gotten yet.

Today I'm going through my clothes and dividing them up into what I want to take with us. We found out our shipment isn't coming until 16 days after they pack it and move it. So I want to make sure I have everything. We are going to take like one pot, one pan, a small TV, some blankets, etc.

Re: Morning!

  • Good morning I'm babysitting again but still waiting for the baby to wake up. I guess he hasn't been sleeping well at night. Nothing else in store for today.

  • Yayyyy for one more (or a few more?) paycheck(s)!!!!!

Makes sense - everytime I move, I pack a suitcase like I'm going on a 2 week trip, and then I put that in the car and pack everything else.  I guess pack like you're doing a 2 week trip in a cabin?  Haha, thus the pot & pan & tv!

Today our save-the-dates are going in the mailllll!!!!

    (totally anonymized)

They were a huge labor of love - basically, I couldn't find any magnets I liked, so I taught myself Adobe Illustrator, designed them from scratch, printed them with VistaPrint, cut them up (there were 3 per large postcard), attached to magnet sheeting, then cut them out again!  Phew!  Then had to address the envelopes, stamp the back with our fancy return address stamp, and stick postage on them.  I'm so ready to have these out of our house!!!

I have it posted on my brand new Etsy shop, too!  I won't post that link here since that would make me a vendor, but if anyone wants to check it out let me know and I'll PM you the address!  But I have really gotten into graphic design, absolutely love doing it, and I know it would be a really great side-job for me to have (maybe someday a main job) while I move with FI over the next few years!  Plus, I LOVE it!

  • Way to go Cal. I'm super impressed.

The pot and pan are because I hate hate hate eating out all of the time. Oh, also add crockpot and coffee pot to the list of things we are taking! We also have to shove two HUGE dog crates in the back of my SUV. Basically those take up all of our room.

We'll be in Georgia for about 2 weeks until our stuff comes. H said we can go to the exchange and get an air mattress. The dogs will have an empty house to play in. I think they could become very unhappy when the rest of our stuff comes in and fills the space. Or they are going to be super pissed because their bed, our couch, won't be there. Haha.

  • Random question. If you looked at Geno (in my avatar) what type of dog would you say he is?

  • Good mornin!  YAY for unexpected money!

C- I meant to tell you earlier that what you create is super cute.  That is a big labor of love there!  I don't think I could have made myself do that.  Cheers to you!

Today I am looking for my voice.  I seem to have woken up this morning sounding like a 95 year old man.  Hot I know!  I don't feel bad just have no voice.  Here is hoping that changes.  Today is the final day for registration for classes so I am sure to have a busy afternoon.

Hike to me he looks like this Belgian Shepherd Dog.  Here is a picture.  But I am no vet.  HAA

  • Crown- I think so too. Our vet records say shepherd mix but I wish they would specify. He doesn't look like a German Shepherd to me and in Georgia, they have special laws about German Shepherds. But I'm assuming if they thought he was German Shepherd, they'd write German Shepherd on his records and not "shepherd mix".

  • Good morning!  Yayy for paychecks!  I'm going to 3 classes then taking a last minute trip to Vegas as a break from all the stuff i've been doing.  So excited!
  • Yeah if I saw him waking down the street I would say that is a shepherd mix not that is a German shepherd.  When I think of German shepherd, I think of black and brown not just brown.  Does that make any sense?  HAA It is still early this morning and my diet dew has not kicked in.

  • Hike - yay for extra paychecks, or paychecks that were unexpected, those are the best! I hope your move goes well! And I find it very weird about GA and FL having super weird German Shepherd laws. In FL absolutely no one will rent to anyone with a Shepherd. But I agree with what Crown said.

Cal - Yay for save the dates going out! How awesome is that! I want a linky!!!!

My Thursday is, ehh alright. I got a good workout in this morning and I'm working. I'm pretty proud of myself for getting into a good routine with it, and I've been doing really well with eating healthier. I'm pretty pissed off and really actually allowing myself to be hurt by my BM officially backing out. It took her 4 flipping months of pulling on me saying yes she'd be here, then no she wouldn't. I've had a feeling that  her excuse isn't really what is causing her not to be here, but whatever. I'm just going to give myself today to be hurt by it and move on from it. Being butthurt won't help.

  • Good morning!!

Hike- Yay for unexpected paychecks! I'd say Geno looks like some kind of German shephard mix.

Crown- Hot tea and honey! And try not to talk too much right now. Give your voice box some rest! Also, don't whisper. It's more straining than just talking quietly!

Cal- I've seen it before, but I don't think I've actually told you...I love your STD design! And you look super cute in the pic!

I spent my morning so far watching GMA and going absolutely nuts on Pinterest. Seriously, addicted. It's my Friday, so I just work 12:15-5:30, then it's my weekend.

  • Our German Shepherd is mostly black, FIL's is sable which is mostly tan but I still wouldn't say yours is a German Shepherd.

  • I personally think he looks like a Belgian Malinois. He doesn't have long hair or dark coat like a german. The second picture looks exactly like Geno.

Hike – Yay pay checks! ETA: He doesn't look like a shepard to me. I they give you trouble, you may want to try to register him with a kennel club as a belgium malinois with a limited registration...they often do stuff like that for obediance dogs. UKC would probably be easier to do than AKC.

    Cal – Love the STDs.

Good morning. We got SNOW last night!! Okay, not my town…but the city I work in did. I woke up super early to clean the snow off my car…and there wasn’t any on my car. =(  At least I got to work 20 minutes early…. Eh? I was working on my invites all last night…I really like them! I can’t wait to print them out to see how they look all put together. I have to call the hotel today…because their “discounted block of rooms” is about $15 more than the online rate. Um…NO. Give me the online rate…heck…If you can, give me the military discounted rate.

  • I agree - I don't think he is a German Shepherd Mix. You can tell just by his face. I've never heard of the Belgian Malinois but I say he looks really close to that picture for sure! His nose even gets darker like the picture shows.

  • Amh- UGH that sucks. I would rather someone tell me the truth than just make up excuses.  It is ok for you to feel hurt by her.  But on a happier note, it is almost wedding month time!

Binx- thanks for the advise.  Good luck to me to stop talking today.  HA

Sammy- your pups are super cute.  Is the other one a dobbie?

She was a rescue they think dobie/rottie mix but I don't thiink she's stocky enough. ETA: By that I mean I'm not so sure about the rottweiller part.

  • Hike - Here is a link to AKCs  Purebred Alternative Listing/Indefinite Listing Privilege (PAL/ILP) program https://www.akc.org/reg/ilpex.cfm  I have never done it, but I have had friends that were able to register their shelter dogs so they could compete in agility.

  • Mine's definitely a mutt - terrier is the only thing remotely close, but she gets so many different guesses!  We think maybe Norwich Terrier and a small breed of Collie?  And probably a few other things.  We think she's probably decendent from mutts, too!

Hike, what kind of special laws do they have for German Shephards?  Miami has anti-pitbull laws.  It's really sad.

She is really cute.  Yeah to me, in that picture she doesn't look stocky enough to be a rottie!
  • Good Morning-ish!
It's amazing to me how many dog breeds that one is not allowed to have in apartments/townhomes. It used to be just Pit Bulls, but everywhere we look at now includes Chows, Akitas, Pit Bulls, Rottweilers, and other "aggressive breeds." It's gotten a little out of hand to me because most breeds can become more aggressive under circumstances. Also I worry because Archie can get aggressive at points when he feels that people he doesn't know are getting to close to me when we walk. We're going to start obedience classes in SA so we can get him socialized. It kind of worries me now because we've been asked a few times if Archie is a small Rottweiler or German Shepherd mix, but I think that's his coloring.
I'm waiting for the carpet cleaner to soak and then I'll be done with this apartment! I'm driving to my hometown this afternoon and FI will be on his way to SA. I'm hoping that he doesn't run into too many problems because of the flooding in Houston, although he'll probably stop for the night before then.

  • Hi ladies!!

Hike, I know nothing about dogs but Geno is a handsome guy!! :)

Amh, so sorry your BM officially backed out--even if you thought she might, that's stull a sucky situation. Hopefully the friends you do have standing up for you can support you!!

  • Oh... Goodness. That moment you realized you put she instead of he... in a business email... OOPS!

The knot is eating posts again I think?
