OMG it is finally here!!! When I told FI we were having an outdoor wedding he was not to thrilled! The one thing FI hates is to be hot. He was so worried everyone would be too warm. Well last night at our OOT Pig Roast under the tent with space heaters, I told him that I didn't think he needed to worry about the temp anymore!
My family and I joke that who knew hell would have to freeze over before i could get married, and between the cold fronts, earthquakes and tsunami warnings over the past few weeks we are now all waiting for flying pigs or the volcano to erupt while FI and I are on the island! Lol...bring it on!
This is a really hard post to write. If you look at the date that I joined the knot, you might think it was a typo but it's not. I joined the knot in 2001 before my little sister got married. I was trying to be a good MOH and help plan showers and write toasts, but I never found my way into the local chat boards until i was planning my own wedding.
This board has been an amazing part of my planning process. From time to time I was hesitant to post b/c i felt like the old chick, but other than a few polls long ago about schools attended and years that you graduated it was never an issue. So first a thank you for letting this older chick blend in.
My wedding will be fantastic thanks to all of the great ideas found here on the knot, and some from my planner as well. Between the BM bags and tanktops, bathroom baskets, valet tags, menu cards, b-pics, sign in photobook and monograms, I know that a little bit of every knottie will be there at the wedding tomorrow night. The board has been such a great release and a "saver-of-my-friendships" b/c I didn't overwhelm them with wedding talk, (I could do that here.) Fi called it my wedding porn and I think it really is. I've logged on everyday this week just to get my fix!
This board is like the perfect sorority everyone is really, genuinly happy for one another and a supportive shoulder when one is needed. It is a nice thing to find here in south florida! I hate that I only just added knotties on my facebook at the end of my planning, I feel like I missed so much.
Jess, Jaime, Amy, Alissa, Lissette, Jillian, Farrah, Vivian, Morgan my date twin, and Cathy my b-pic encourager. I'm so glad that i got a chance to meet you it made the boards feel more personal to put faces (in person) with names and screen names.
I can't believe it's here. I am a very lucky bride (freezing weather and all) It took a long time for Fi and i to find each other and it wasn't always smooth sailing but I know he was worth waiting for. I feel so blessed to have him in my life, I'm so excited to have someone to laugh with, cry to and even yell at. He is the reason I want to rush home after work even if he insists on using the horrible tv tray to eat dinner.
Ok, wow i think i have rambled quite a bit here but it has been an emotional week. Even with ordering tents, liners and heaters at the LAST minute (read: yesterday and thanks dad!!!!) I have never been happier than I am today.
I am a fortunate, lucky, blessed, and well loved bride.....
