My restaurant does not cater but will a caterer serve thier food?

Hello all,

Looking at caterers has been a trying experience. The proposals I get are nice but not the kind of food my fiance and I like. I am not mexican so tex mex food or a chip and salsa kind of alternate menus are not what I am looking for. My faviorite Latin restaurant does not cater, but I was wondering if a catering service would be willing to serve the food? The restaurant can cook it in "bulk"  but its not what you would say a full service caterer. Has anyone heard of this being done?

Thank you :)
Thank you!

I don't think a caterer is going to serve someone else's food, but I'm sure people have done what you're talking about before. You might try calling White Glove Service Inc. in Providence. I talked to them when I was looking for bar service; they provide staffing for events and I'd think you could just hire servers and such.

If I were going that route, I'd probably make sure I also hired a good day-of coordinator to run the show, since the caterer usually plays such a big role in the timing, setup, etc. and any servers you hire might not do those things.

I think I spoke to a Shelly (maybe? It was last year.) The number is 331-5800.

^ I agree with KB, definitely hire a Day of Coordinator to enure a smooth execution. White Glove Services does offer wait staff service as well as event planning too. Also, I would suggest buffet style for ease of service during dinner.
