Reading Art Works...

Hey All-

So I just came across another possible venue in my search for the perfect location for my reception.  Has anyone looked into, been to a wedding at, or had there reception at The Loft @ Reading Art Works?  It has the look I am searching for.  I also want BYOB and an outside caterer so that I can shop around and find the perfect food.

Thoughts on this venue?

A co-worker used this venue and he and his wife loved it. He definitely recommends it and its not a bad area. As long as your close to the college (right on the outside of reading) its a pretty nice area. You might check out the goggle works too? I think that they have a few nice spots for weddings

I checked out this site and loved the inside...it is a definite cleans late for you to do whatever you want.  The area surrounding it is rather sketchy though.  I declined to hold my wedding there because of the surrounding neighborhoods...I didn't want that to be what my guests remembered.

Check out Stokesay Castle in Reading...that is where I will be getting married.

We're looking at the Reading Art Works as well to hold our wedding.   We had the same dicussion about the neighborhood when we first looked at this place online.  My fiance's parents know the area extremely well and suggested  that we direct our guests in and out of the venue via 183 (Schuylkill ave) right into the city, avoiding most of the bad areas. Anything can happen anywhere, but this is probably what we're going to.

I wasn't impressed with Stokesay Castle, they're way too expensive for what you get, and they've been closed and reopened too many times in recent years to be reliable.
