My FI and I are planning a small destination wedding.. about 60 guests only 25ish families/couples.
I would like to do homemade jam and natural honey with a tag that says 'Spread the Love'. He LOVES his grandmas homemade jams, and my dad loves blackberry jam... So she is going to help us make blackberry jam. I thought it would be a cute way to incorporate our families.
Anyway, I have two concerns...
1. We would probably just include these in their welcome baskets. Would that be okay? Or would it be unclear that these are their favors? We are just doing a nice sitdown dinner after the ceremony instead of a formal reception, so I don't really want to do the favors there.
2. As people will be traveling to florida for the wedding from IL, AZ, TX WA, and CA, will transporting these home be an issue? Some guests will be driving and some will be flying.
Re: Jam/Honey Favors
If you do it, I think you can put it in the welcome bag.

I LOVE the idea tho!! I'm a big fan of jam, and I like that it has personal significance to you both. Would you be flying or driving from MO to FL? If you are driving, this favor might still work out if it's small enough to be consumed while they're there in FL. Otherwise, I agree that it's not worth the effort since the liquid/glass factor would be an issue for anyone flying.

This is what we are going for
[QUOTE]We are doing about a week long road trip down there, so transport there wouldn't be an issue. And most guests are getting a beach house for a week, so I think we will leave them with a loaf of bread on the counter for when they arrive :) If a few get wasted or get tossed, I'm okay with it. I saw it on Pinterest forever ago and love it!

Sounds like a great idea! A nice light breakfast or snack already waiting for them :) And the picture/idea looks cute!
