I can't catch a break! Second hair trial gone wrong PIP

Is it really that hard to do a half up half down style? No, it's not! This is my usual formal hair style and I've had it done countless times unfortunately not in the area of my venue.

I went to the salon that I thought was my second choice today.  My appointment was at 2:30 so I arrived at 2:20.  The hairstylist, Gloria, took me back and started working on my hair after I showed her pictures of what I wanted.  Then she moves me to another chair so she can finish working on another client!! So I was kind of annoyed by this but thought I would give her a chance because this was my next best option after all. So then she starts working on my hair again.

We went round and round with me trying to explain what I wanted done and I kept having to re-explain myself because she wouldn't listen to what I wanted.  Next thing I know we are two hours into this appointment and I am completely unhappy with her work but was so fed up I just said it was fine so I could leave.

If you cannot tell my the pictures, she left countless bobbypins showing and very frizzy curls. Not shown in the picture is the front where it looks like I have horns coming out my head.  Honestly I do not know how you can mess up that bad.

Probably the worst part (actually it is what I am most upset about) is they charged my $65! I feel that it was a completely unacceptable performance for that amount of money.  I am writing a letter to the manager of both salons I visited explaining my frustrations.

I hope that no one else is going through this! I wouldn't wish this upon anyone, not even an enemy.

I just posted on your other post wishing you luck. I guess I was too late! lol  I'm sorry you are having such problems. That sucks! I wish I knew of some places that do great hair but I am getting my hair done by my OOT cousin. GL finding someone that will listen and do a great job!

Sorry this is not working out! Honestly, though, I don't think you should tell them that it's fine just so you can get out of there faster. They won't know that they did poorly, and they won't be able to fix it, and then your letters to the manager will be so out of the blue for them since they won't know what they did wrong in the first place.

If you tell them that you're really unhappy, they may give you some kind of refund (even if it's partial) so you won't have to keep paying for things that you hate.  If you are forced to keep doing trials with salons, then it may end up being more expensive than just paying a travel fee for someone you're worked with before and know will do a good job.

I really hope you find someone that works well for you! If you want a recommendation, for the girl that did my hair, she doesn't work out of a salon at the moment (as far as I know), but she'll go to you or you can go to her, and she's really good. She used to teach, beauty/makeup stuff, so she knows what she's doing. :)

At this point I would be willing to pay for their travel if they know what they are doing! Any recommendations would be appreciated.  TIA

i agree with aileene! call and voice your frustrations and give them a chance to correct it at no additional expense to you before you send an angry letter. she needs to know that you didn't like it and you need to feel like your money was well spent. please keep us posted!

(btw, all of my trials--yeah, i totally did 3--were just rough drafts of the real thing. my hair was frizzy with exposed pins for the trials, too, but the day-of it looked great!)
