XP - DJ costs?

Our DJ quoted us $1600 for ceremony and reception (at the same site - 1 hour cocktail hour in between)
I feel that this is kind of $$ -- how much are you paying? for where and how long?

    We contacted three DJ's, and chose one who will cost $800 for ceremony and reception until 1 am. This is in Burlington, Ontario. We got quotes as high as 1500, so I don't think 1600 is completely nuts, depending where you are.

    We paid $600 for the reception only. We got a 25% discount for booking on the spot at a bridal show, and it was a pretty basic package. The DJ's office is located in Woodbridge but our reception was downtown Toronto.

    We're paying about 550 for reception only. In eastern Ontario, a little tiny city.

    My DJ is $1100 for 8 hours. Our wedding will be in Brampton. Most places in the GTA seem to be charging $1200 +. I think it also depends what day your wedding falls.
