Book now or wait?

Our honeymoon will be our first trip out of the country. We are wondering if we should book now or wait until it gets closer.  We will be going on our honeymoon July 15-20th to the Riviera Maya (still trying to decide between two resorts).  We have noticed that cheapcaribbean.com offers specials when it is closer to the travel date.  However, I am wondering if it usually equals out to be the same price because I have heard that airfare is usually most expensive the closer it gets to the traveling date.  Does cheapcaribbean actually make it cheaper overall waiting closer until the date?

Airfare is usually at it's lowest 3-6 months in advance. If you have the money and like a price you see, though, there is no harm in booking early.

  • Enter your flight information onto yapta.com to start watching fares. Once you see a drop, I say book it! :)

  • fares for mexico are up pretty steeply now compared to previous years. i see no reason to wait. if you know the flights and hotel info you want book it. if the airafre goes down call the airline and ask for a refund or credit.

[QUOTE]I booked our flights early and they ended up getting canceled.  That's a risk you take any time you book flights more than 6 months in advance.

flights can get canceled right up until they take off. this is not a reason not to book early.
