Hi Ladies, My name is Tangela; Tangi for short I'm from Houston and I'm getting married in New Orleans May 7, 2011 at an private estate. I just wanted to introduce myself & say hello. Anybody getting married in May?

    Welcome.  I am fairly new here myself and am not getting married until 2012.  You will find a ton of helpful info on this board.  Everyone is extremely friendly and helpful.

    Hi Tangela, I'm already married but I agree with No2012, I planned everything based on info I got from helpful brides here and it was at a private (uptown) home too. Affordable and no restrictions. What vendors do you have lined up so far? Any advice needed?

    Hello!  Please help me start planning a Sept 24th, 2011 wedding.  I am a bit overwhelmed by how far behind we are in the time frame since we only now decided Nola was the right venue.  This gives me 6 mos... 

    I think I'd like it to be walking distance to Emeril's and Lucy's in the Warehouse district.  Suggested venues for actual service?  Wanted to have a wedding march from it to warehouse district, possibly?  Trying to be cost conscious and not afraid to do something funky like rent a dance floor and put it in a park (like Lafayette where BBQ and Blues festival held?) or on a roof top, etc...  Heard second floor or attic of Lucy's might not be a bad idea for reception...  Never been there.  Probably no more than 100 in attendance, closer to 80 likely.

    Have access to small clubhouse at Julia Place for rehearsal dinner with maybe Mother's soul food and desert at Emeril's.  Outside that, no idea...  Please help!

    You need a planner if only to help you research and do the legwork. I recommend mine. 318 Designs charge by the hour for the very thing you need. Give them a call. Hope this helps. Also try searching these boards I know a few brides have posted about different venues
