Wedding Woes

MOH jury duty!

My sister and MOH texted me last night, telling me she was summoned for jury duty the three days before my out-of-town wedding.  I was really counting on having her here as of wednesday to help with last minute things - and that means she'd have to miss the bachelorette party and rehearsal, too!  Any suggestions on how to get her out of it? I know she's postponed it once before because of an exam, but I don't know if they'll let her do it again.  Help!

I've never understood people who have a bachelor/bachelorette party that close to the wedding...it just screams trouble.

if she has travel plans (i'm talking flight/train tickets) she may be able to postpone.

i'm with the other though - you need to find someone else to do your dirty work, or do it yourself. we had everything ready to go the week before, so the last few days were basically stress free, and i got to have fun with my wedding party that came in early rather than putting them to work.

It varies a lot by city or county or whatever.  Where I live, you can automatically postpone the first time by calling some phone number, but then they get to call you within six months and it's nearly impossible to get out of it a second time.

I guess it's time to suck it up and do your own things for your own wedding.  Yes it's a let down, but she's put it off once and I doubt they will let her again.
