Ladies that have used Imagen, what was your experience? FI and I met with them yesterday, and we liked their policies and really liked their prices. We also liked their photography, but not knowing who took which photos sort of bothered me. Our meeting was a little on the awkward side, but I'm gonna chalk that up to the girl we were meeting with is a photog and not a sales lady. Basically we liked the company, but as FI said when we left, "What's the point of picking out a photographer if they end up choosing your photographer for you?"

So, what was your experience with not knowing who your photog would be? What was your overall experience? Any recs, advice, or comments are appreciated. We're seriously considering them because we liked them more than some other photogs, but I'm nervous about just jumping in.

I'm not an Imagen bride so I can't speak to that, but I just wanted to throw out there how important I think it is to be comfortable with your photographer. This is the person that is going to be taking some of the most important pictures of your life, and don't you want to look happy and natural in them, not awkward? If your meeting was uncomfortable and you're not super thrilled with the fact you won't even know who you're working with (which I personally, would not be down with) then I would move on and find someone else.

That's just my 2 cents, though. Lots of girls on this board have used Imagen and been very happy with them.

Ditto legg!

For us, being comfortable and "clicking" with our photographer was really important. They will essentially be your third wheel the entire day, so you want to make sure you like hanging out with them. If it bothers you not to know who it will be, I would say go with your gut and look for someone else. Those doubts will only amplify as your near your wedding day.

We used Imagen for our wedding. We had both Alex and Lizzy shoot our engagement pics and were told that one or the other would do our wedding. We specifically asked for Alex because we like his style better and clicked with him better as well. We got what we asked for. I know another Imagen bride had it written into her contract that Alex would do her wedding day photography.

We weren't as happy with our e-pics, but I'm glad we did them b/c it gave me a better idea of their style and also let me know that I need to speak up about the things we want. However, we were THRILLED with our wedding day pics. There are so many great ones to choose from!

We enjoyed our experience quite a bit. Alex was very professional as was his assistant. We got over 1800 edited photos. I agree with PP that you should feel comfortable with your photographer-feel like you can relax and just ignore the cameras on your day.

Thanks ladies. I don't think the girl we met with would be doing our wedding, so I don't think feeling awkward around her would be a big deal. It sounded like she tends to do larger weddings than what we would have.

FI REALLY likes that they release all the prints to you. It bothered him that other photogs would pick out the best ones to give you, so that's a major selling point. I just don't know about booking without meeting the other photogs. I know about the e-pic session, but what if we don't click with anybody? That's my big concern.

I agree with Allison & Anna.

We met with a company & it was the same deal, that we wouldn't know who would be our photog until the week of. That bugged us right away, so they weren't even an option to look at after we found that out.

If you don't click with your e-pic photog, then you may be back to square one. We ended up switching our photog a few months back, because we were having issues with her & communication.

We used Imagen and couldn't be happier with their work. We also had it written into our contract that Alex would shoot our wedding.

We used Imagen. Lots of pictures and review in my bio. Just make sure you put in your contract which photographer you want on your wedding day, because that was a huge problem for us. We ended up with a photographer on our wedding day that we barely knew. She did a great job, but it was very disappointing.

We're using Imagen and we were very happy with our e-pics! We had never met the two photographers we had, and we're not sure if either of them will be at our wedding, but we loved our pictures either way! I guess it didn't really bother us as much if we don't know the people first because we just liked the company's style overall. Plus we're having them do pics at our rehearsal dinner, so that will help us get more comfortable with them too- that could be an option if it doesn't bother you to jump over that hurdle last minute.
