stalling time

Im having the ceremony start at 3. I only have my MOH and 2 bms walking down plus flower girl and 3 RBs. 2 of the GMs are walking with the girls and 2 of them will stand in with FI. Im hoping that the processional will go into 330. Do you think because of my BP being short I should stall time to make sure im coming down as the hour is going up ?

Re: stalling time

  • It depends on the rest of your ceremony. Are you getting straight to the vows? having a sand ceremony? is the preacher speaking?

  • Ok before I answer your question m1ssj..do I include the seating of the parents before ceremony starts or after ?
  • I would include from the moment the parents are escorted in (assuming thats the first thing) until you walk out of the door

  • Ok...here is my order of ceremony Entrance of Pastor, FI, 2 BM Entrance of Parents Lighting of candles Song Processional Bride processional Prayer Vows Lighting of unity candle Prayer Jumping of the broom
  • Depending on the length of your vows and the prayers this looks like 30-45 minutes to me. Closer to 30. You could add a scripture reading or pem. Or another ceremony like the cross, cords, wine box etc. Do you need an hour?

  • Not really. I want the ceremony to be short and sweet as possible. Just want to make sure the hour is going up while saying our vows..right ?
  • I'm glad you mentioned this.. This is something that i should be thinking about as well.. What time does your cocktail hour/ reception start? is it in the same location? Are you considering in between time for pictures, etc?? I guess i should be asking myself the same question. LOL.

  • Yes the hour starts from the time your pastor and FI enters and ends when you two exit. Just make sure you end when cocktail hour is supposed to start. So your guests arent lingering for 1.5- 2 hours

<div>My Cocktail hour should be starting at roughly 430</div><div>
</div><div>We will be taking pics during cocktail hour as I plann to have pics done in 45 mins. I would like to sneek in a bite of the cocktail hour food and a drink before walking into the reception. I think it sucks you pay for cocktail hour and dont get to eat the apps or get a drink lol</div><div>
</div><div>Ceremony and Recpetion is all in same location</div>
