I just "published" our website and sent a link to friends and family on facebook. (a private list so not everyone sees it)
My aunt, who lives in Oregon, said "buy me a ticket". I said "Plane ticket?" so she said "yea!". I responded "I have a TON of things I have to pay for, including my airfare from MT THREE times this year, and that alone costs me over $500 each time" She hasn't written back yet, but I thought that was incredibly rude.
She and her 3 kids all think my parents are rich. My parents are nowhere near rich, but they work hard and enjoy life. (Same story with my grandparents, though my grandpa has now been gone almost 6 years) My aunt and cousins blow every dollar they make on junk and crap, then expect others to cover their assses when it comes down to things they should probably be at or do.
My 34 year old cousin said "I can't promise we'll be there" because he too blows all his money on crap. It frustrates the hell out of me. When my cousin got married 5 years ago, I took 3 days off work and traveled to his wedding, but now that it's time to return the favor he just doesn't know.
UGHHH! Vent over.
Just because you saw it on Four Weddings, doesn't mean it's a good idea.
