Mulberry Art Studio / Cork Factory Hotel

My fiance and I are just beginning to look at venues but these are our two favorites so far (from what we have found online about them at least)... Anyone have any insights, opinions, reviews, etc they care to share about either?  We have an appointment at the Cork Factory on Wednesday and are waiting to hear back from Mulberry... :)

Also, any other similar style venue suggestions? Relatively small reception (~100) and we want something unique with lots of character (preferably indoors)...

I have my reception booked at Mulberry Art Studios. They have been SO great - I really couldn't ask for more. The ladies that work there are extremely friendly and will always go out of their way for you. I definitely would recommend them!

Really?! That's awesome... It looks like a really awesome venue from what I've seen online :)

I haven't been in contact with them yet but how do they compare price wise to other locations in the Lancaster area? Do they just give you a flat rental fee or how does that work? I know they require outside vendors for food, beverage, cake, etc -- my fiance and I are struggling to decide if we want to pick somewhere that can do it all or somewhere we can decide every detail with each vendor.... Its nice getting others opinions as I've never planned something of this magnitude before LOL

I met with Cork Factory when I was looking for reception places.  They were very nice but the room set up was kind of weird?  But if you're having a smaller wedding it will be perfect.  Lots of history behind the building.  Just make sure you pay attention to where you are parking because it's a huge clump of buildings.  Oh, and if you're having a spring/summer/early fall wedding, there is a beautiful outdoor balcony they use for the cocktail hour *Sigh* It's awesome.  I've never been to Mulberry for a wedding, but I know a few people who have and all have been rave reviews!

As far as food goes, I know CF will provide catering, but it's a bit on the expensive and uberfancy side.  Enjoy your visit with them!!!

I also have an appointment with the Cork Factory this coming week. I've read good things about them as well. I was at a reception about 7 years ago at Mulberry and from what I Remember it was great. I'm waiting to hear from them as well.

Met with Cork Factory today and my fiance and I absolutely loved the rustic feel to the building and ballroom area.  They charge $2000 for a site fee (table, chairs, china, candle centerpieces, etc) and then seated/buffet menus starting at $55/person which includes the cake, hors d oeuvres and plenty of food.  It seems very reasonably priced (except the alcohol -- $200 for half keg of domestic and $250 imported, plus $20 a bottle for wine)... Overall we were really happy with what we saw ----- Seeing Mulberry Art Studio tomorrow so I'm excited about that as well!!

We are still bouncing back and forth between doing a smaller, more intimate wedding/reception or a larger one -- we'll see what tomorrow brings :)
