Getting in Shape

Zumba

Lately I've been loving zumba classes to help me lose weight. Unfortunately in my area, the live zumba classes at the gym aren't offered right now due to the instructor being injured (and she goes to all 3 chain gyms). But my fi bought me the Zumba fitness core game for the Wii: and I'm hooked.
I actually didn't think it'd be so intense. But by the end of a short class, I'm sweating like crazy. And starting to see results - down 5 pounds in the last few weeks from a combination of zumba, and a regular gym workout.

Just wanted to share my love for zumba :)

Me, too! He thinks we're playing. I sometimes do crunches at home and I call them dog crunches because of his involvement in this activity.

<div>My dog definitely thinks home workouts are some crazy game I'm trying to play with him. He gets all up in my face. I wish I had the motivation and lack of dog-in-face to workout at home more often. </div><div>
</div><div>Congrats on the loss and motivation!</div>

[QUOTE]Glad to see it's working for you.  I did not care for the Zumba on the Wii at all (though I did like it better than the class), but I adore Gold's Gym's Dance Workout for it.  The video game workouts are just like the DVDs or any other at home workout, you get out of them what you put in.  Technically, you could stand still and just shimmy your hips or move your arms correcty and the game wouldn't know the difference any more than Jillian Michaels really knows if you're "doing great" when one of her workout videos is playing, but if you really WORK at it, you'll see results just like any other workout.
