8 days to go...and no favors?!

Well ladies another thing has gone wrong!!

Not only the organ/piano lady cancelled on us a week before, nor the the BM's gifts are a mess...but now fi's mom told me that the place where she was ordering the candy apples (favors) can't do them anymore because they have a "new machine" and they only do them but with flakes. I originally wanted them all red so they can match my colors.

So I have pretty much three choices but the first choice sounds selfish but fi's mom suggested it and I feel bad if I pick the first choice.

First choice is, ordering them from "Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory" at the mall which means they will be way more expensive ($5 each apple). Second choice is that we order them where were going to initially order them, but with the flakes. Third choice is scratch the apple idea and find something in 6 days! because I am leaving to vegas for the weekend and I will not have time to find something until Monday.

What to do? Second choice? =(

Oh man Vans! I'm so sorry to hear this

Alright let get started... is it in your budget to cough $5 an apple? Is your heart set on only RED apples? Would the flakes bother you?

Can anyone DIY for you while your in Vegas? I'll start looking for you!

found this place...if I calculated right they come out to be $3.33 an apple and you can call for a discount if you order more. Not sure if you want local or delivery is ok

aw man, thanks! I will call as soon as I can. I hope they can get here on time. That's way better than $5 an apple.

The flakes don't bother me much, I just wanted them red. But I'll make an exception if this site doesnt work out.

Also I tried calling Porto's but they didn't pick up = / just would see if they do it. Maybe a local bakery would do it you never know unless you ask

I'm so sorry this happened to you so close to the wedding. I think if you can't find an alternate place to get them the second choice wouldn't be so bad. If you think about it sometimes the red seeps through the flakes anyways on the apples. The up side I think your guests will be happy with anything, I know I would think it was totally cool if I got a candied apple as a favor they may not even notice the flakes. GL!

aww, what a bummer vans. i think if worse comes to worse and you can't swing the all red apple, the flakes will be fine. i hope it all works out!

I know a lady that sells red velvet cupcakes that are DIVINE and they're about $3 each. Would that work? It's red!

I would skip the favors at this point. I don't think its worth putting you through so much stress and people won't miss not having one.

I would accept and then after the wedding is over and stuff has calmed down take her out to lunch if you can or send her a boquet of beautiful flowers!

Vans I was just told they sell candy apples at Ralphs for $1 and some change. Are they good? I don't know. But maybe something you want to consider as well!

Ditto pp and check out calsnacks. They are REALLY reasonable. We almost went with them before we decided on a candy buffet.

aww vans such a bummer, but i agree with pp about sending flowers or taking her to lunch. It's such a short notice you don't want to stress yourself more. Accept with a big smile and a big hug! =]

I would also try negotiating on the price....Since Rocky mountain is probably the easiest at this point. My sister just called pottery barn of all places and got them to come down a ton on vases for my centerpieces

(More than 2 dollars a vase)

So I say it is always worth asking what they can do for you if you order bulk through them...good luck!
