Wedding Woes

SS Confession

Every year I say I'm going to do SS.  Every year I chicken out.  I'm always worried I'll give the lame ass gift that everyone makes fun of.  Or I'll miss the deadline or somehow screw the whole thing up.

Maybe some year.

I worry every year, and in the end I JUST make the cut off and don't care once it's left my door step.

i so look forward to secret satan.  if i have to get made fun of for giving a gift, so be it.  and missing the deadline isn't a big deal -- it always happens!

screwing someone out of a gift, though -- HOO BOY.

But nico I didn't send anyone a gift!

I blame my lack of social skills.  I am getting better, so who knows what 2011 will bring.

    Here's another example:
I know my mom group meets the second Friday of every month.  I know I heard at the last meeting that this one was a potluck and gift exchange.  Usually the small group leader calls the day before meetings.  I haven't heard from her.

I'm askeered I'll show up tomorrow and I'll have screwed it all up.  I keep checking the fb page, but there is no info.

Psh, I give lame gifts. They're usually not funny, and when I try to be funny, I'm pretty sure I've failed.

I can't care, though, because I love presents too much to give it up.

Hmo's right - there really is no wrong way to do SS, as long as you don't forget to give something or acknowledge receipt of a gift. MANNERS, ladies. Manners!

I haven't participated yet either. I'm afraid that I won't make it to the post office in time. I am a notorious procrastinator.

I feel this way exactly.  But I enjoy the whole experience too much to not participate.

I didn't do it in 2008 because I figured I'd be too preoccupied with the new baby.  Then it totally sucked on reveal day. Not just that I didn't get a gift, but I couldn't really participate fully in all of the fun.

So last year, I was determined to do it and was really glad I did.
