Pittsburgh Opera Venue

Hey there, i'm looking into the pittsburgh opera as a wedding venue, but i havnt found any info  about it on the knot or online. Has anyone out there had their wedding or event here? can you share the real pros and cons? any advice?!

    I just posted a message a few minutes ago on the old Pittsburgh Opera post from a while back.. (that I wrote lol)  :)  PM me if you have any other questions about the space.  The events coordinator there is pretty helpful and will even send you pics and a rental document via email.

    I'm having my wedding there next June!   This could be a pro or a con depending on how you look at it, but I think it's a huge pro - everything is DIY.  They provide some of the tables and chairs, but you provide your own caterer, alcohol, linens, dishes, etc.  It ends up being much more affordable in the end, plus you get to do exactly what you want!   I'm just going to spend a little extra to hire a day of coordinator to make sure that everything gets set up correctly the day of since they don't help with that.  They are very quick to answer emails though, and they've let me tour the venue twice.  I definitely recommend it, especially if you're on a smaller budget! :-)

    Just a suggestion - if you're having a wedding in the Pittsburgh Opera space, you might consider hiring one of the singers in their young artist program to sing.  (No, I do not work for PO but I was once a young artist there).  The young singers are all really accomplished and would add a lot of elegance to your event.
